Joseph Stalin targeted Muslims and others across parts of the Soviet Union and "fellow Christians" as well for his purges. Similarly Hitler targets Jews, fellow Christians, gypsies, gays, communists, political enemies and many others for his camps.

This gets into the problems with "Body Count: A Quantitative Review of Political Violence Across World Civilization" which was published by the the Royal Aal Al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought located in Jordan in 2009. The author is Naveed S. Sheikh. A link is provided below so you can read the 35 page book.

The book claims that the deaths (body count) of every war which involved Christians are included in the total Christian body count -- even if the premise of the war was not religion. For example the author includes World War 1 and World War 2 as Christian wars that add to is claimed body count for Christians.

As outlined by numerous respected historians -- including body counts from wars where the pretext of the war was not religious strife is simply absurd, effectively rendering the claims in the book as meaningless.

For instance it may be appropriate to include the Crusades in the total -- where the pretext of the war was the Catholic Church raising armies to remove Muslims from the Holy Land. Likewise the Muslim seizure and occupation of large portion of Europe which was done on religious grounds by conquering and killing Christians would be appropriate to include in the body count.

Additionally the author leaves out many wars and purges involving Muslims in his text.

Obviously "Body Count" was put together with the intent of claiming Christians had a much higher body count than Islam over the centuries. A claim undermined by respected historians who have studied the expansion of Islam over time.

Israel calls for international help as wildfires erupt near Jerusalem

Dangerous wildfires have erupted in central Israel, forcing authorities to close major highways and prompting the Israeli Government to ask for international firefighting help.

Dry and windy conditions fanned the flames, threatening communities about 25 kilometres west of Jerusalem and blanketing much of central Israel in smoke.

Video shared on social media showed the fire raging along the edges of Highway 1, which connects Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, leaving motorists little choice but to abandon their cars and run for their lives.

Some could be seen hitching a ride on the back of tow trucks travelling through the area.

Locals had been evacuated a number of communities in the Jerusalem Hills, including the towns of Neve Shalom, Mevo Horon and Eshtaol.

The Israeli government said it had asked Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, Italy and Bulgaria for help in battling the fires, and said assistance was expected to begin arriving on Thursday local time.

Israeli media reported two pregnant women and two infants were among 13 people rushed to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation and burns.

The chief of the Israel Defense Forces said search and rescue teams had joined Israeli police and firefighters in the area, helping to battle the fires and the evacuate residents.

Military aircraft were also joining the firefighting efforts.

"I express my full support for the firefighters and rescue teams standing guard over our country and working alongside the IDF, local authorities, and all relevant agencies in a broad effort to contain the severe and devastating fires in the Jerusalem area, and ensure the safety of local residents," Israeli President Isaac Herzog posted on social media platform X.

"I thank the countries stepping up to assist Israel at this critical time and send strength to those evacuated from their homes."

Israeli media was reporting the nation's domestic spy agency, Shin Bet was involved in investigating the cause of the fires, with fears arsonists may have been involved.

Police revealed they had arrested a man in his 50's from a Palestinian neighbourhood in East Jerusalem on suspicion of trying to start another fire in an open field south of the city.

The fires prompted the cancellation of many Memorial Day services, commemorating fallen IDF soldiers and civilians killed in attacks in Israel.

A number of Israeli Independence Day events, scheduled for Thursday, have also been cancelled.

Yeah... if you disliked Israel going in and killing Hamas terrorists. Well, Lebanon plans to fully eradicate them next. Or to state is succinctly - "remove this scourge from the face of the earth".

So Hamas steals nearly all the food aid and then sells it to the residents of Gaza. The starving residents -- who can't afford to pay -- get furious and loot the Hamas food warehouses. Hamas responds be executing "looters" as a "lesson to others". Complete chaos in Gaza.

This is what Hamas rule looks like in Gaza -- and why Hamas is called a terrorist group. Just remember that since 2005 Hamas has killed far more many residents of Gaza than the IDF.

Hamas executes looters in Gaza as food crisis worsens under Israeli blockade

    • Hamas says some looters working in organized groups
    • Some 'execution rulings' have been carried out
    • Hamas says will 'strike with an iron fist'
    • Israel makes no immediate comment on Hamas' accusation
CAIRO, May 4 (Reuters) - Hamas has executed a number of alleged looters after several incidents in which heavily armed gangs attacked food stores and community kitchens in the Gaza Strip this week, sources close to the Palestinian militant group said.

Hamas officials have accused some of the looters of working in collaboration with Israel, which has sealed off aid from entering Gaza for the past two months. Israel has not commented on the allegation.

In one incident, the Hamas-run interior ministry said a police officer was killed and others were wounded when an Israeli drone fired a missile at a police unit chasing criminals in Gaza City.

"We will strike with an iron fist all these renegades, and we will take the necessary measures to deter them, no matter the cost, and we will not allow them to continue terrorizing citizens, threatening their lives, and stealing their property," the ministry said in a statement on Saturday, referring to the alleged looters.

Ismail Al-Thawabta, director of Gaza's Hamas-run government media office, said some of the looters acted under a clan umbrella and others acted as organized groups, some of which he said received direct support from Israel.

He said a number of "revolutionary execution rulings" had been carried out against "several top criminals" proven to have been involved in looting.

Some Gaza residents and Palestinian media said Hamas' armed wing imposed curfews starting at 9 p.m. to restrict the movement of civilians and to chase criminals.

United Nations officials have warned of the increasingly dire humanitarian situation facing Gaza, which has been devastated by the Israeli campaign launched following the Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

Israel has defended its blockade against aid entering Gaza, alleging that Hamas steals supplies intended for the civilian population and distributes them to its own forces, an allegation that Hamas denies.

However, the problem has worsened as the blockade has persisted, posing a challenge to Hamas, which has faced irregular protests by people in Gaza angered by shortage of food reaching the enclave.

The incidents underlined the strain facing the Gaza population, which has been increasingly squeezed into areas in central Gaza and along the coast as Israeli forces have created wide buffer zones around the enclave.

    GANGS TAKE MONEY, PHONES
"Those gangs, some of them armed, have terrorized people, not only stealing food, but stopping some people on the roads and taking away their money and phones," said Ahmed, from Gaza City, who asked that his full name not be used.

"They aid the occupation in starving us; they must be dealt with as collaborators," he told Reuters via a chat app.

SAFA news agency, close to Hamas, said the interior ministry has formed a new 5,000-member force tasked with confronting looters and armed gangs. However, local police forces have been hampered by attacks from Israeli drones against any armed Palestinians they identify.

Hamas deployed thousands of police and security forces across Gaza after a ceasefire took effect in January, but its armed presence shrank sharply since Israel resumed large-scale attacks in March.

Meanwhile, Israeli military strikes killed at least 40 people across the enclave in the past 24 hours, the territory's health ministry said.

Israel's campaign was triggered by the devastating Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, that killed 1,200 people in southern Israel and saw 251 taken hostage. It has so far killed more than 52,500 Palestinians.
