Yet not once have you ever criticized Islam - a major religion that has killed more people over time than all the the other religions on the earth combined.

Your "I'm not religious, my beef is with the con act of religion" is not holding water. Otherwise you would be criticizing all the major religions on the face of the earth equally. All of them -- based on their historical records -- deserve condemnation.

If you were not a Muslim then you would be condemning the actions of Islam as well.

the number one killer of people has been Christianity. But maybe you don’t count their victims because they tended to be brown.

and for what it’s worth personally, I’ve never had a Muslim try to convert me. I have had several Christians try to, including one at a trade show booth for manufacturing machinery.

You really should go read up on your history.

I am not saying that Christianity did not cause a huge death toll -- it certainly did over the centuries including colonization periods.

However Islam which believed in converting people at sword point for centuries and also had numerous bouts of infighting takes the winner for the largest death toll according to most scholarly studies.

If you were not a Jew then you would be condemning the actions of Israel and not such an aversion to Muslims.
Muslims, Jews, Christians have many similarities.
The people are fine just like Russians, NKoreans, Nazis.
The problem isn't people but political/religious indoctrination.
What is a Muslim or Nazi? It's a person born an innocent baby into the world who on growing up then gets whacky ideas from others.
Some are moderates, others become extremists.

I have outlined numerous times in this thread my objections to the actions of the Netanyahu government in Israel and the need for a more moderate government to take their place if there is to be any hope for peace in the region. I have also outlined that Israel would need to give back the land occupied by settlers in the West Bank for any type of two-state solution.

I do not have an aversion to Muslims -- I have an aversion to militant terrorists who murder people.

So I don't have a problem with people, it's the violence and the choices not to be sociable which is the problem.

"Call me an egghead, but what I remember most from the Oman experience is a booklet with an ominous title: Body Count (2009). Its subtitle tells a fuller story: A Quantitative Review of Political Violence Across World Civilizations. For Christians, the surprise comes when author Naveed Sheikh concludes that “the Christian civilization emerges as the most violent and genocidal in the world history.” Compared to Islam, Christianity is a clear winner: 31.94 million deaths (by Muslims) to 177.94 million deaths (by Christians)."

Yet -- this is not what other scholars have found.

I will dig up the sources later this week.

A religion that constantly wages jihad as one of the foundations of the religion has a tremendous body count.

Sadly I will note that many of the Muslim deaths were caused by fellow Muslims. This is also true for Christianity which waged war between different sects (Catholics, Protestants, etc.). The question also becomes how much of this is political violence associated with rulers of states fighting and/or conquering each other using religion as a guise rather than deaths that can properly be associated with the religion. History is full of militant leaders using religion as an excuse to attack others while twisting the intent of the faith.

i think it’s pretty obvious. I mean persecution of the Jews alone would probably trump all of Islam’s genocides.

    From Google ai:
“While some Nazi Party officials, like Martin Bormann, actively promoted the incompatibility of Nazism and Christianity, there's evidence that Hitler and the Nazi movement used religious beliefs, particularly a distorted version of Christianity, to justify some aspects of their ideology and actions, including parts of the Holocaust. However, they also explicitly rejected traditional Christian doctrines and Jewish elements of Christianity”

    so that’s 20mm right there.
