1h ago (10:30 GMT) https://www.aljazeera.com/ Israeli military says explosions expected as part of ‘routine activity’ in Lebanon The Israeli military says in a report addressed to Israeli citizens that sounds of explosions could be expected in the coming hours in the Upper Galilee. It said this would be part of “routine activity” by the army in southern Lebanon and there is no need for concern about a security incident. The warning was issued while Israel’s ceasefire with Hezbollah continues to hold despite numerous violations. The Israeli army, which has launched many deadly attacks inside Lebanon during the ceasefire, did not elaborate about the cause of the expected explosions. The Israelis know that we know their crybully, twisting tourniquet torture techniques to win the long game. Of course they will now attack Ireland vía US companies that operate from there being told to pull out etc. Ireland will fight back via it's own diaspora, though those old loyalties are fading, Ireland has more.
It is quite obvious by now that the Hamas Health Ministry promotes fiction. Those who put trust in the Hamas casualty figures should hang their heads in shame The relentless promotion of unreliable and distorted data from terrorist sources has let down those who simply wished for an unbiased view https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/12/16/those-who-put-trust-in-hamas-death-figures-are-fools/ How many times since October 7 have I tried to explain, in public as well as private, that the casualty figures piped straight from the Hamas-run “Gaza health ministry” were false? That they massively inflated numbers of civilian, women and children killed in IDF strikes? That repeating them ad-nauseam as though the “health ministry” of a theocratic terrorist militia could be the source of figures reliable enough to be repeated everywhere from the BBC to the New York Times was a gross perversion, whose only purpose could have been to paint the IDF as bloodthirsty child-killers? How many times? More times than you can shake a stick at. Enough times to go blue in the face. Enough times to feel deep despair at the evil tricks the world plays relentlessly, so long as Israel is their target. And now, at last, those of us for whom it was a matter of Year One logic that Hamas figures were not to be trusted have a huge screed of data, fact checked and garnered from open sources so anyone can check it, to draw upon. This is courtesy of the unstinting efforts of Andrew Fox, ex-armed forces and former Sandhurst lecturer, now a disinformation researcher at the Henry Jackson Society think tank. His report, collated through Hamas’s own registries and Health Ministry websites, illuminates the myriad ways in which the terrorists fudged and manipulated casualty figures with gay abandon – and which world media, including the great and the good of the West, lapped up and repeated verbatim. Hamas, driven by the same logic of anti-Semitism that powered the ancient blood libel trope, made sure it seemed as if the IDF went after women and children especially. Fox alleges that one way they did this was to list men as women. Adults were also registered as children; twenty-somethings as infants. Natural deaths, in the tens of thousands, were included as well. And the nub of it: the lion’s share of deaths in Gaza were those of fighting-aged men. This strand of Fox’s analysis shows how, contrary to claims that the IDF targeted civilian populations, the opposite was true, according to his report. The vast majority of broadcasters, news sites and newspapers ought to hang their heads in shame. Of 1,378 articles published over a four month period in spring 2024 in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Guardian, CNN, the BBC, Reuters, the Associated Press and the Australian ABC, a full 84 per cent did not bother to distinguish between civilian and combatant deaths, Fox found. A shockingly low 5 over cent of publications released any numbers from the Israelis, while 98 per cent – basically all – exclusively published the Hamas Ministry of Health figures. The sheer force of the need to paint Israel as targeting civilians has been overwhelming. Trying to go against this need with the small sounds of sanity has inevitably been painful and confrontational. Some of those who lost their hats over my insistence that, while all civilian deaths in Gaza were tragedies, the IDF was not baying for the blood of innocents, may have been infected with anti-Semitism. But most were just consumers of the news from sources they ought to have been able to trust. These sources, which Fox suggests were incorrect, not only let their readers, listeners and viewers down, but have viciously pursued the deepest embedding of fake history that Europe and the Anglosphere has seen since the propaganda tools of the Nazi and Soviet regimes.

Israel calls HRW accusation of ‘acts of genocide’ over Gaza water access ‘lies’ Israel says an HRW report accusing it of committing “acts of genocide” in the Gaza Strip by restricting access to water for civilians is “full of lies”. “Human Rights Watch is once more spreading its blood libels in order to promote its anti-Israel propaganda … This report is full of lies that are appalling even when compared to HRW’s already low standards,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. HRW says it interviewed 66 Palestinians in Gaza between October 18, 2023, and July 23, 2024, about the near-impossibility of sourcing water. It also spoke with four Gaza Coastal Municipalities Water Utility employees, 31 doctors and healthcare professionals, and 15 individuals working with UN agencies and international aid organisations in Gaza. The rights watchdog also said it analysed satellite imagery and verified photographs and videos that show extensive damage and destruction to Gaza’s water and sanitation infrastructure. The damage HRW documented includes “the apparently deliberate, systematic razing of the solar panels powering four of Gaza’s six wastewater treatment plants by Israeli ground forces, as well as Israeli soldiers filming themselves demolishing a key water reservoir”. https://www.aljazeera.com/
Chile’s president calls Israeli PM a war criminal Chilean President Gabriel Boric has branded Netanyahu a war criminal for the “barbarity” of his actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. “What Benjamin Netanyahu has done is a war crime, a crime against humanity,” Boric said at a Christmas event for Palestinians in Chile held in Santiago on Wednesday. “We are deeply pained and shaken not only by what is happening in Gaza but also by the events in the West Bank,” he added, referring to Israeli settlers and soldiers in the occupied West Bank attacking Palestinians there. “There is no room for half-measures in the defence of humanity,” he said, calling for renewed efforts towards peace. “We are gathered here today to defend humanity.” Chile is home to some half a million people of Palestinian descent.
MSF report finds ‘clear signs of ethnic cleansing’ in Gaza A new report from Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has found “clear signs of ethnic cleansing” in Gaza by Israeli attacks. “In the north of the Strip in particular, the recent military offensive is a clear illustration of the brutal war the Israeli forces are waging on Gaza, and we are witnessing clear signs of ethnic cleansing as Palestinian life is being wiped off the area,” according to the report, titled Gaza: Life in a death trap, released on Thursday. “Our firsthand observations of the medical and humanitarian catastrophe inflicted on Gaza are consistent with the descriptions provided by an increasing number of legal experts and organisations concluding that genocide is taking place in Gaza.” MSF reported that, as of mid-October, only 17 of Gaza’s 36 hospitals were partially functioning amid Israeli attacks, and the other 19 hospitals were out of service. Gaza’s last remaining oncological hospital has shut down due to a lack of fuel and MSF said its teams have had to carry out surgeries without sufficient anaesthesia. MSF said the prevalence of skin diseases, upper respiratory tract infections and diarrhoea are indicative of the “appalling hygiene conditions” endured by people in Gaza. It said children are missing out on crucial vaccinations against diseases such as polio and measles. It also reported that, over the first 12 months of the war, MSF staff were subject to 41 attacks and violent incidents, including “air strikes, shelling and violent incursions in health facilities, direct fire on its shelters and convoys and arbitrary detention by Israeli forces” and eight MSF workers have been killed.
