Gaza war: Over 100 BBC staff accuse broadcaster of Israel bias in coverage The New Arab Staff 02 November, 2024 https://www.newarab.com/news/gaza-war-over-100-staff-accuse-bbc-israel-bias-coverage The BBC has been accused by over 100 of its staff members of having a pro-Israel "bias" in its coverage of Israel’s war in Gaza, ongoing for over a year, UK media has reported. In a letter sent to the BBC director Tim Davie and CEO Deborah Turness, the staff members also criticised the broadcaster for its lack of "accurate evidence-based and consistently fair" journalism, accusing it of "failing" to adhere by its own editorial standards. The letter, first reported by The Independent on Friday, saw over 100 signatories from the British broadcaster's staff members, plus other signatures from the media industry, actors and politicians and other public figures. "Basic journalistic tenets have been lacking when it comes to holding Israel to account for its actions," staff members said in the letter. The signatories went on to urge the broadcaster to report "without fear or favour" and to "recommit to fairness, accuracy, and impartiality" in its reporting on Gaza. The letter also called on the BBC to apply a number of editorial requirements, such as stressing that Israel is the perpetrator in headlines when the army carries out attacks, including "historical context predating the events" of October 7, 2023, and "robustly challenging" Israeli officials and representatives in interviews. The letter also demanded the BBC to explicitly state that external journalists are being prohibited from entering Gaza by Israeli forces. Speaking to The Independent, one of the letter's signatories said the BBC had published a number of "a number of dehumanising and misleading headlines" concerning the killings of Palestinians at the hands of Israeli forces. Another signatory said the broadcaster "always treats" Palestinians as "an unreliable source", but "always gives Israel's version of events", despite ample evidence of the army circulating false information. The letter also highlighted alleged failings by other UK media organisations, including ITV and Sky News. The BBC denied the letter's claims, saying that when they "make mistakes or have made changes to the way they report", they "are transparent". The broadcaster also added that it "does not and cannot reflect any single world view" in its reporting. The public broadcaster has come under fire on number of occasions for its coverage of Israel’s war on Gaza, chiefly concerning Palestinian victims of Israeli violence. In July this year, the BBC described the killing of disabled Palestinian man by Israeli forces as a "lonely death", after 24-year-old Muhammad Bhar, who was suffering with Down’s Syndrome, was left to die by the Israeli army after being mauled by a combat dog with was set on him in Shujaiya. The BBC did not mention Muhammad's death until the 16th paragraph of the article, and chose to lead the story with the difficulties the 24-year-old was faced with as a man with disabilities living through war. Public outcry ensued, leading the broadcaster to delete the initial tweet concerning the story, before changing the headline to "Gaza man with Down's syndrome attacked by IDF dog and left to die". In a similar fashion, eight UK-based BBC staff members wrote a letter in November last year accusing the broadcaster of using having "double-standards" on reporting on Palestinian casualties, framing Hamas as the only instigator during the war and failing to empathise with Palestinian suffering the way they would with that of Ukrainians. During the onset of Israel's war in Gaza, reports emerged that staff were "found crying" in bathrooms over the BBC's coverage of the military onslaught. Additionally, the BBC's early coverage of the war prompted the likes of veteran reporter Bassam Bounenni to resign as the BBC's North Africa correspondent. A number of BBC Arabic staff were also probed and taken off the air for displaying pro-Palestinian sentiments on social media. Israeli forces have killed at least 43,314 Palestinians as of Saturday, and are currently intensifying a military campaign in Gaza's north. Israel's war has also extended to Lebanon, where 2,897 have been killed since October last year. Israel's actions in the regions have condemned globally, with many labelling them as "war crimes" and "genocide".
The actual reality... BBC ‘breached guidelines 1,500 times’ over Israel-Hamas war Coverage was heavily biased against Israel, report into corporation’s output finds 07 September 2024 https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...-guidelines-more-1500-times-israel-hamas-war/
I did a little fact checking of that news article where it mentions BBC Senior journalist Jeremy Bowen. Here's what I found... Fact Check: BBC’s Jeremy Bowen was not pulled from Gaza amid Israel-Hamas conflict By Reuters Fact Check December 8, 2023 There is no truth to a recurring claim that BBC News journalist Jeremy Bowen was removed from Gaza or that Israel complained about his “pro-Hamas” stance, a BBC spokesperson said, adding that this false accusation has circulated online since 2014. In November, posts on Facebook showed a graphic with the BBC logo and a headshot of Bowen reading: “BBC has removed Jeremy Bowen from Gaza, its most experienced Middle East correspondent for saying ‘He had not seen any evidence of Hamas using civilians as human shields.’ Israel complaint to BBC and said that this was pro-Hamas and BBC immediately pulled him out of Gaza.” A BBC News spokesperson told Reuters in an email on Nov. 20 that Bowen was reporting from Israel, and although he was briefly embedded with IDF forces in Gaza, he was not based there. They added that to claim Israel made a complaint to BBC resulting in the organisation removing him from Gaza where he had gone with the IDF “doesn’t make a lot of sense”. Bowen’s Gaza embed was featured in a video report on Nov. 8, 2023. Journalist Clive Myrie’s introduction to the report explains that Bowen accompanied the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) inside the territory and that the IDF cleared the footage shown in the report. At the time the social media posts were circulating in November, the most recent report featuring Bowen was from Jerusalem, dated Nov. 13. On Nov. 17, the BBC News Press Team released a statement addressing the false claims about Bowen on X, saying: “This is complete rubbish (and was rubbish when it last circulated in 2014). Jeremy is currently reporting from London, and will be back in the Middle East soon.” BBC’s email to Reuters also said that Bowen would be in Jerusalem “soon.” And in an X post on Nov. 18, Bowen wrote that he was working in London and would return to Jerusalem shortly. Bowen has since appeared in a Dec. 4 report from Jerusalem. There are no credible independent news reports of a complaint by Israel against Bowen leading to his departure from Gaza. The original claim first emerged online after Bowen wrote an article for The News Statesman in July 2014 titled "Jeremy Bowen’s Gaza notebook: I saw no evidence of Hamas using Palestinians as human shields". The broadcaster addressed the reports of his being pulled out of Gaza at the time in a BBC blog calling them false. Israel’s Government Press Office and the Embassy of Israel in London did not immediately respond to Reuters’ requests for comment. VERDICT False. Jeremy Bowen has not been withdrawn from covering the war in Gaza by the BBC. This article was produced by the Reuters Fact Check team. Read more about our fact-checking work.
Btw, I noticed that all the complaints of BBC bias in that article came from Jewish sources, no one else was complaining.
People forget, about a week before Candace Owens was fired from the Daily Wire, she announced she was going to go to Gaza to do some kind of first hand reporting. Basically there's only one reason any reporter would be reporting from Gaza...to further a propagandistic narrative with an agenda. Same mission as UNWRA. You can get into Gaza, if you go with the IDF, as does Douglas Murray.
The BBC is s world-wide news organization based out of the U.K. Notice that the 100 BBC staff complaining that the BBC has pro-Israel bias nearly all have Arab, Muslim or Middle Eastern names. An in-depth analysis in a carefully documented, lengthy report demonstrated that the BBC actually has an anti-Israeli bias. The primary reason the reporting of the BBC is anti-Israeli is due to the reports submitted by these 100 reporters who are complaining. Basically these are the 100 people breaching the BBC ethical guidelines over 1,500 times. Fortunately they have self-identified themselves so their employment can be appropriately terminated.
Despite Americans declaring they are God's special people (i.e., chants of God bless America), the Bible says otherwise. Jews are God's chosen people. Deuteronomy 7:6 For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. After the death of Lord Jesus Christ, a Jew who trusts in the blood of Lord Jesus Christ is now considered a Christian and not a Jew. Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. However, for Jews who reject the Lord Jesus Christ, they still have the status of God's chosen people. While individual Jewish politicians or people may do evil (just like all of us: all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God), Jewish people as a whole should be afforded an extra level of honor and respect. In short, according to the Bible, it is not the loud mouthed American that is special, it is actually the Jew. God bless the Jewish people.
Think logically for a moment if it's possible. Humans are sinners, liars, treacherous. (Humans are also / can be wonderful). Who wrote the Torah & Bible? Jews! Anything written in these books is slanted and bullshit. The bible was not written by God, it's just more human bs. The whole Jewish story & Christ rose from the dead miracle is a scam, a wonderful ficticious story, so fantastic it has lured millions of people. Just look at Jewland now. Full of people praising Netanyahu for his efforts at massacring their neighbours. Is that not proof enough that the Jewish religion is ineffective, a double standard hypocritical scam? But no, cultists will never change their mind, like a drug addict, gambler, nicotine smoker, religious people are hooked.
Even the christians approve. Christians approve as they are biased to the scam of Israel religion. If you ask christians about land theft or violence, they approve.
