Iran has been using their proxies to attack U.S. bases in Iraq and elsewhere for years. This is nothing new, nor will this threat change the U.S. response to Iran.
It has become definitively clear that Iran was informed about Hamas' October 7th attack more than a year in advance. It is also becoming more obvious that Iran was likely involved in planning and providing tools for the attack. Iran can deny it all they want -- the documents tell differently. ‘The View’ Co-Host Criticizes Harris For Saying ‘Nothing Comes To Mind’ On What She’d Do Differently From Biden Nicole Silverio Media Reporter October 14, 2024 https://dailycaller.com/2024/10/14/the-view-sara-haines-harris-biden/ “The View” co-host Sara Haines said Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris’ answer on what she would do differently from President Joe Biden showed she was not prepared to participate in sit-down interviews. Harris told the co-hosts that “nothing comes to mind” on how she would govern differently from Biden during an Oct. 8 interview, sparking backlash from prominent conservatives and some Democratic strategists. Co-host Sunny Hostin argued Harris has run a “flawless campaign,” prompting Haines to say that the vice president’s answer on the program indicated she “did not seem prepared” to be interviewed by the media. “One thing I would say, and I’m gonna push back a little on Sunny’s comment that it’s a flawless campaign,” Haines began. “And this is why I’ll say this. I am voting for Kamala Harris because we talked about this last week, all the why’s. But, I think the criticism of people who is not resonating with, she went on a media blitz and it was mostly friendly interviews. There was some questions, but she didn’t seem prepared. That question you asked her got a ton of press about how would you change yourself. If this is an election of change … and she said not one thing comes to mind. And she’s heading into a media blitz, so these are the questions you’re going to get. And so, what I’m confused about is she’s either not prepared, which I don’t think so because I think she over prepares, or she doesn’t have the difference to sell.” Haines further noted that voters struggle to differentiate Harris from Biden, making it difficult for the vice president to run as a change candidate. Co-host Ana Navarro rushed to Harris’ defense by saying Harris is simply showing loyalty to Biden. “Kamala Harris is loyal. So if what people want is for her to throw Joe Biden under the bus and say he did this wrong, he did this wrong, she’s not gonna say it,” Navarro said. An average of 28% of Americans believe the U.S. is on the right track, setting a precedent for Democrats to lose the election in November, CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten said during an Oct. 4 segment. MSNBC national political correspondent Steve Kornacki said Monday Harris’ lead over Trump declined following her media blitz and that the former president’s retrospective approval rating fares better than Biden’s current approval by five points. Harris reportedly attempted to distance herself from Biden on his economic policies and inflation in an attempt to redefine herself, anonymous advisers told Axios in August.
Netanyahu tells U.N. to pull peacekeeping troops out of Lebanon’s border area U.N. peacekeepers hold their flag..... By Mike Glenn The Washington Times Sunday, October 13, 2024 https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2024/oct/13/benjamin-netanyahu-israeli-leader-tells-un-to-pull/ Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Hezbollah is using international peacekeeping troops as “human shields” and is urging the United Nations to pull them from Lebanon’s southern border, where Israel is battling the Iran-backed terror group. About 10,000 peacekeepers from 50 countries are based there as the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon. Since 1978, UNIFIL troops have patrolled the area between the Litani River and the “Blue Line,” the U.N.-recognized boundary between Lebanon and Israel. “The time has come for you to withdraw UNIFIL from Hezbollah strongholds and from the combat zones,” Mr. Netanyahu said Sunday in a televised appeal to U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. “Your refusal to evacuate UNIFIL soldiers has turned them into hostages of Hezbollah. This endangers both them and the lives of our soldiers.” U.N. officials said two Israel Defense Forces tanks destroyed the main gate at a UNIFIL observation post in Ramyah in southern Lebanon early Sunday and “forcibly entered the position.” The Merkava tanks remained there for about 45 minutes before leaving after UNIFIL protested through a liaison officer that the IDF presence was putting the peacekeepers in danger. Later that morning, U.N. peacekeepers at the same position reported firing a barrage of smoke rounds about 100 meters north of them. “Despite putting on protective masks, 15 peacekeepers suffered effects, including skin irritation and gastrointestinal reactions, after the smoke cleared the camp,” UNIFIL posted Sunday on X. “The peacekeepers are receiving treatment.” The U.N. said more than 2,000 people in Lebanon have been killed and more than 1 million displaced in the fighting between the IDF and Hezbollah. At least four UNIFIL peacekeepers have been injured since Israel launched its ground offensive into southern Lebanon about two weeks ago. Mr. Netanyahu said Israel has repeatedly asked the U.N. to pull its peacekeepers out of the border area but UNIFIL has refused to leave. “We regret the harm to UNIFIL soldiers and we are doing our utmost to prevent such harm. But, the simplest and most obvious way to ensure this is to simply withdraw them from the danger zone,” he said. “Mr. Secretary-General, get the UNIFIL forces out of harm’s way. It should be done right now, immediately.” For the fourth time in as many days, UNIFIL on Sunday said they reminded the IDF and all other parties, including Hezbollah, of their obligations to ensure the safety of U.N. personnel and respect U.N. security positions. “Breaching and entering a U.N. position is a further flagrant violation of international law. Any deliberate attack on peacekeepers is a grave violation of international humanitarian law and” U.N. resolutions, UNIFIL posted on X. “UNIFIL’s mandate provides for its freedom of movement in its area of operations, and any restriction of this is a violation. We have requested an explanation from the IDF on these shocking violations.” Mr. Guterres last week criticized actions that were putting the UNIFIL troops in danger. “Peacekeepers must be protected by all parties of the conflict, and what has happened is obviously condemnable,” he said Friday at a meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in Vientiane, Laos. “What we are witnessing in Lebanon is a massive operation with strikes [and] heavy bombardments — obviously with bombardments from the Hezbollah side — that are causing a dramatic number of civilians being killed.” Mr. Netanyahu slammed European leaders for “applying pressure in the wrong place.” Rather than complain about Israel, he said they should direct their criticism at Hezbollah, which is using UNIFIL as a human shield in Lebanon just as Hamas did with the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Gaza Strip. He said Israel is more determined than ever to soundly defeat the nation’s enemies and ensure peace and prosperity for future generations. “In Lebanon, we eliminated (Hezbollah chief Hassan) Nasrallah and his senior personnel. Our heroic soldiers are destroying Hezbollah’s weapons, command centers, and terrorist tunnels,” Mr. Netanyahu said. “They are fighting forcefully to return our residents in the north safely to their homes.” He said Israel’s fight is not with the people of Lebanon. “We are fighting Iran’s terrorist proxy Hezbollah, which has occupied Lebanon,” Mr. Netanyahu said. On Sunday, the Pentagon announced that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin authorized the deployment to Israel of a Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense battery and crew to Israel to help bolster the country’s air defense following Iranian missile attacks on April 13 and Oct. 1. “The THAAD battery will augment Israel’s integrated air defense system. This action underscores the United States’ ironclad commitment to the defense of Israel and to defend Americans in Israel from any further ballistic missile attacks by Iran,” said Pentagon spokesman Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder. “It is part of the broader adjustments the U.S. military has made in recent months to support the defense of Israel and protect Americans from attacks by Iran and Iranian-aligned militias.”
The job of the U.N "peace keepers" was to ensure that Hezbollah did not launch rockets and missiles from Lebanon into Israel. The U.N. has failed to do this for 18 years now -- clearly not living up to the mandate agreement that had Israel withdraw from Lebanon after the 2006 Israeli-Hezbollah War. Hezbollah has been storing and launching missiles a mere 1000 feet away from one of the peace keeper bases --- obvious for all to see -- yet did nothing to stop the launches. Yes, at this point the peacekeepers need to leave Lebanon and let Israel complete the job of stopping the continuous missile launches into Israel by Hezbollah. The U.N. peacekeepers had one job and they failed to do it. No civilized nation is going to put up with a terrorist group launching missiles at them from a neighboring country -- creating a situation where over 60,000 of your own citizens need to evacuated from their homes -- and not implement a forceful response. Enough is enough. If a terrorist group in Mexico continually launched missiles hitting the U.S. -- and the government of Mexico and U.N. peacekeepers placed in the region did nothing to stop the launches -- then the U.S. would not put up with this. The U.S. -- quite rightfully -- would attack the terrorist group to eliminate the launches. At the same time telling the peacekeepers to get the heck out of the way and telling the government of Mexico they need to not support the terrorists. Israel is doing exactly this --- and it is long overdue. This should also be a reminder that Hezbollah and its leadership has killed hundreds of Americans -- their attacks are not only inflicted on Israelis.
Erdogan blasts UN over Israeli attacks on peacekeepers 8:41 PM The New Arab Staff & Agencies Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday hit out at the United Nations for failing to prevent Israel from firing at its peacekeepers in southern Lebanon. At least five UNIFIL peacekeepers have been wounded in recent days as fighting ranges between Israeli troops and Hezbollah militants in Lebanon. Erdogan said the UN was also to blame for failing to sanction Israel over its wars with Hezbollah and with Hamas in Gaza. "The image of the UN which cannot protect its own personnel is shameful and worrying," Erdogan, a fierce critic of Israel, said in a televised address. "Frankly, we ask ourselves what the (UN) Security Council is waiting for to stop Israel. "Can you believe it? The Israeli tanks penetrate into the UNIFIL zone, attack peacekeeping soldiers, even wounding some of them, but the UN Security Council decides to just watch all this criminality from its stands - that's what we call powerlessness."
The best thing Israel ever did for itself was con the whole world with its bullshit religion. That's been Israel's savior. Well actually the world self embraced it, sheep led to their own slaughter.
