International Affairs Houthis Vow 'America Will Pay a Heavy Price' for Bombing Yemen Amid Crisis Oct 04, 2024 https://www.newsweek.com/houthis-vow-america-will-pay-heavy-price-bombing-yemen-amid-crisis-1964178 US Military Strikes Houthi Targets in Yemen By Tom O'Connor Senior Writer, Foreign Policy & Deputy Editor, National Security and Foreign Policy A senior official of the Iran-aligned Ansar Allah movement, also known as the Houthis, has told Newsweek there would be severe consequences for the United States after it conducted a new round of strikes against Yemen in the midst of a regional crisis. After reports circulated on Friday of explosions rocking at least three places in Yemen, including the port city of Hodeidah, the capital Sana'a and the southwestern city of Dhamar, local media affiliated with Ansar Allah quickly placed the blame on Washington. A U.S. defense official initially told Newsweek the Pentagon was "aware of the reports citing U.S. strikes in Yemen." U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) then announced its responsibility for the operation, saying its forces "conducted strikes on 15 Houthi targets in Iranian-backed Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen today at about 5 p.m. (Sanaa time)." CENTCOM added: "These targets included Houthi offensive military capabilities. These actions were taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels." The U.S., often partnered with the United Kingdom, has conducted numerous rounds of strikes against Ansar Allah in response to the group's ongoing campaign of attacking international vessels accused of shipping to Israel amid its ongoing war in the Gaza Strip with Hamas. The latest sorties, however, come amid a particularly volatile series of regional events and Ansar Allah Deputy Information Secretary Nasreddin Amer warned they would treat it as another destabilizing act. "We consider it an escalation and a brutal aggression," Amer told Newsweek, "And we will confront it with escalation, and America will pay a heavy price." Smokes raise after U.S. aircraft and ships struck Ansar Allah strongholds, in Sana'a, Yemen, on October 4. A senior official of the Iran-aligned Ansar Allah movement, also known as the Houthis, has told Newsweek there...Osamah Abdulrahman/AP Newsweek has reached out to CENTCOM for further comment. The strikes mark the first conducted by the U.S. since Iran launched a massive ballistic missile strike against Israel on Tuesday. Iran conducted the attack in retaliation for the killing of Hamas Political Bureau director Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in July, the killings of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) General Abbas Nilforushan in Beirut last week, along with other actions tied to Israel. Israel has been at war with Hamas since the Palestinian militant group launched a surprise attack from Gaza on October 7, 2023. The conflict has since expanded, first with the Lebanese Hezbollah movement firing rockets and drones into Israel, fueling intensifying exchanges of cross-border attacks. Ansar Allah, which, like Hezbollah, is member of the informal Iran-aligned Axis of Resistance coalition, also began firing missiles and drones at Israel just weeks into the conflict. The Yemeni group later expanded its offensive to targeting vessels accused of defying a maritime blockade unilaterally imposed by the group against Israel. In the latest operation targeting Israel, Ansar Allah military spokesperson Yahya Saree announced Thursday that the group had launched a wave of drones toward Tel Aviv. He claimed that the attack "successfully achieved its objectives, as the drones reached their targets without the enemy being able to confront or shoot them down." Saree also hailed fighters battling Israeli forces in Gaza and Lebanon, into which the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a ground offensive Monday, and confirmed the group's "continuation in carrying out their military operations against the Israeli enemy until the aggression stops and the siege on the Gaza Strip is lifted, as well as the aggression on Lebanon stops." On Wednesday, a day after the Iranian missile strike, Saree claimed another successful Ansar Allah operation against Israel in the form of hitting Israeli military sites with three Quds 5 cruise missiles. Praising Iran's missile attack, he said Ansar Allah stood ready "to participate in any joint military operations against the Israeli enemy." Ansar Allah also claimed the targeting of the Panama-flagged Cordelia Moon oil tanker in the Red Sea, later sharing explosive footage of the attack. The vessel is one of more than 100 ships struck by the group since last November. The Pentagon has deployed additional assets to the region in response to Ansar Allah's campaign and has sought to intercept attacks against Israel and merchant ships. The U.S. began conducting direct strikes against Yemen in January, then, too, prompting threats of vengeance from the group, which has pressed on with its attacks, some targeting U.S. warships and even downing multiple U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drones. Israel also conducted strikes against Yemen for the time in July after an Ansar Allah drone evaded air defenses at struck central Tel Aviv. Israeli jets struck Yemen again on Sunday following continued attacks from the group. "We know how to reach very far, we know how to reach even farther, and we know how to strike there with precision," IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi said at the time. "This is not a message, it is an action, an action that carries a message with it." Days earlier, after Amer offered praise for the now-slain Nasrallah and offered "to support our brothers in Hezbollah with all our strength and without limits," an IDF spokesperson told Newsweek, that "the IDF is prepared to take decisive action against any group or entity, including the Houthis, that threatens Israeli sovereignty or the safety of its citizens." On Friday, just prior to the IDF announcing two of its soldiers had been killed and two dozen more wounded in a drone strike claimed by another Axis of Resistance faction known as the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an IDF spokesperson told Newsweek of an Iran-backed "ring of fire around Israel." Ansar Allah supporters raise a Hezbollah flag during an anti-Israel and anti-U.S. rally in Sanaa, Yemen on September 27. Osamah Abdulrahman/AP Ansar Allah has established itself to be a dominant force in Yemen since it first seized Sanaa amid civil war a decade ago. The group fought for years against the country's still internationally recognized government, which is backed by a Saudi-led coalition, but a United Nations-backed ceasefire has largely prevailed in the country since April 2022. Riyadh and Tehran have since improved their own bilateral relations, even amid the current Middle East tensions. However, Saudi Arabia and a number of neighboring Arab nations continue to accuse Iran of supplying the group with advanced weapons, a charge the Islamic Republic has repeatedly denied. While Yemen lies more than 1,000 miles away from Israel, Ansar Allah's capacity to strike from afar as well as its proximity to shipping routes and facilities critical to global energy trade have demonstrated a strategic role for the group in the broader conflict that has consumed the region over the past year. The position could prove particularly pivotal as Israel plans to strike back over Iran's recent missile attack and Tehran weighs its own options for another round of escalation. This is a developing news story. More information will be added as it becomes available.
first of all i feel deep sympathy for all people living under dictatorship. (russia, china, n. korea, iran, syria, afghanistan, etc. etc. etc.)

In Michigan, Kamala Harris meets Arab American leaders angry over Israel policy Some Arab Americans believe Harris’ refusal to distance herself from President Biden’s policies in the Middle East, as Israel escalates its attacks, will cost her in November. REUTERS WASHINGTON/FLINT, Michigan Vice President Kamala Harris met with Arab American and Muslim leaders in Flint, Michigan, on Friday, as her presidential campaign seeks to win back voters angry at US support for Israel’s wars in Gaza and Lebanon. The meeting is one of several attempts in recent days to mend fences with Muslim and Arab voters, who resoundingly backed Democrat Joe Biden in 2020 but could withhold their votes from Harris in numbers that would cost her the key state of Michigan. During the half-hour meeting, Harris expressed her concern on the scale of suffering in Gaza, civilian casualties and displacement in Lebanon and discussed efforts to end the war, according to a campaign official. She also discussed efforts to prevent a regional war, the official added.
I didn't bother to post the whole article. What I wanted to say, I got a pretty good idea how the Democrats will play this. A few days or a couple of weeks prior to election day, Democrats will promise the sheeple a change in policy toward Israel. It'll be some kind of juggling act not to put offside the Jewish community, but the Democrats will try and pull off a stunt for voter harvesting. Same old bullshit at every election where they make crime and law and order announcements. Another stunt to play will be to create some sort of major distraction. Sheeple love to believe bullshit, sheeple love polititians and the church. Politicians know how to screw over dumb sheeple. You know society is fucked when they're voting in idiots to the standard of Trump or Biden. Kamala seems just as bad but I'll reserve my judgment for the meantime, but from the initial looks of it, another retard.
Is this how Rome fell? Retards with money, power, influence, corrupt to the eyeballs, all the stupid shit sheeple admire running the show?
The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, sometimes shortened to Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, is a six-volume work by the English historian Edward Gibbon. The six volumes cover, from 98 to 1590, the peak of the Roman Empire, the history of early Christianity and its emergence as the Roman state religion, Thesis edit Gibbon offers an explanation for the fall of the Roman Empire, a task made difficult by a lack of comprehensive written sources. According to Gibbon, the Roman Empire succumbed to barbarian invasions in large part due to the gradual loss of civic virtue among its citizens.[14] He began an ongoing controversy about the role of Christianity, but he gave great weight to other causes of internal decline and to attacks from outside the Empire.[clarification needed] WIKI
