Undoubtedly these six terrorists will not make it to trial in the U.S.; it would be best if Israel eliminates them asap. Haniyeh is already deceased.

It is long overdue that the U.S. hold terrorists legally responsible for the murder of U.S. citizens world-wide.

DOJ charges senior Hamas leaders over involvement in Americans' deaths during Oct. 7 attack on Israel
The criminal complaint names six members of Hamas' leadership structure.

The Justice Department unsealed charges Tuesday targeting multiple senior members of Hamas' leadership for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murdering of Americans during the terror group's Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

The criminal complaint, unsealed in the Southern District of New York, names six members of Hamas' leadership structure and details extensively their alleged terrorist activities on behalf of the group.

The complaint details seven criminal charges against the Hamas leaders including conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist group resulting in death, conspiracy to provide material support for acts of terrorism resulting in death, conspiracy to murder U.S. nationals, conspiracy to bomb a place of public use resulting in death, conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction resulting in death and conspiracy to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

Among those named in the criminal complaint are Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas leader assassinated in Iran in July, and Yahya Sinwar, who has been described by Secretary of State Antony Blinken as the "primary decider" in cease-fire negotiations.

The other defendants listed are Mohammad Al-Masri, Marwan Issa, Khaled Meshaal and Ali Baraka.

The charges were filed in February and kept under seal because the DOJ was hoping to be able to take Haniyeh and other members of the alleged conspiracy into U.S. custody, a DOJ official told ABC News, who added that it was no longer necessary to do so since three of the six charged are now deceased and given the recent developments in the region.

The charges accuse the group of financing and directing a "decades-long campaign to murder American citizens and endanger the security of the United States," Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a statement announcing the complaint's unsealing.

"As outlined in our complaint, those defendants -- armed with weapons, political support and funding from the Government of Iran, and support from Hizballah [Hezbollah] -- have led Hamas' efforts to destroy the State of Israel and murder civilians in support of that aim," Garland said. "In its attacks over the past three decades, Hamas has murdered or injured thousands of civilians, including dozens of American citizens."

Garland further confirmed in a statement Tuesday that the Justice Department is actively investigating Hamas' murder of six hostages over the weekend, including dual American Israeli citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin.

"The charges unsealed today are just one part of our effort to target every aspect of Hamas' operations. These actions will not be our last," Garland said. "The Justice Department has a long memory. We will pursue the terrorists responsible for murdering Americans -- and those who illegally provide them with material support -- for the rest of their lives."

Hamas carried out an unprecedented incursion from Gaza into southern Israel by air, land and sea on Oct. 7, 2023, killing more than 1,200 people and taking 253 others hostage, according to Israeli authorities. Officials say there are now 97 hostages remaining in Gaza. Before the killing of the six hostages over the weekend, U.S. and Israeli officials had assessed that fewer than 50 were still living.

Twelve American citizens were taken during Hamas' Oct. 7 attacks. Two were released in late October, and two more were freed in November as part of a cease-fire deal. Of the eight Americans who remain detained in Gaza, four have been declared dead. U.S. and Israeli officials believe that four others could be alive.

More than 40,800 Palestinians have been killed and more than 94,200 others have been injured in Gaza since Oct. 7, amid Israel's ongoing ground operations and aerial bombardment of the strip, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health.

How Netanyahu Is Trying to Save Himself, Elect Trump and Defeat Harris
    Sept. 3, 2024 https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/03/opinion/netanyahu-trump-harris.html

.......Mr. President, please, please tell me that Netanyahu has not played you for a fool. You have had repeated conversations with him, each followed by your optimistic predictions about an imminent cease-fire in Gaza — and then he tells his followers something else.
Netanyahu is one reason that I coined this rule about Middle East reporting: In Washington, officials tell you the truth in private and lie in public. In the Middle East, officials lie to you in private and tell the truth in public. Never trust what they say to you in private — especially Netanyahu. Listen only to what they say in public to their own people in their own languages.

In his phone calls, Netanyahu has been whispering to America’s leaders in English that he is interested in a cease-fire and a hostage deal and is considering the necessary precursors for what I call the Biden Doctrine. But as soon as he hangs up, in Hebrew, he says things to his base that expressly contradict the Biden Doctrine, because it threatens the Bibi Doctrine.

Biden has been telling Netanyahu, Israel could find sustainable Arab partners for a secure pathway out of Gaza and find Arab allies for the regional alliance it needs to counter Iran’s regional alliance of Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis and Iraqi militias. Biden’s point: Israel’s security today has to be seen in a much wider context than just who patrols the Gaza border.

But the Biden Doctrine ran directly into the Bibi Doctrine, which centers on doing everything possible to avoid any political process with the Palestinians that may require a territorial compromise in the West Bank that would break Netanyahu’s political alliance with the Israeli far right.

To that end, Bibi has made sure for years that Palestinians remain divided and unable to have a unified position. He ensured that Hamas remained a viable governing entity in Gaza by, among other things, arranging for Qatar to send Hamas more than $1 billion for humanitarian aid, fuel and government salaries from 2012 to 2018. At the same time, Netanyahu did everything he could to discredit and humiliate the Palestinian Authority and its president, Mahmoud Abbas, who has recognized Israel, embraced the Oslo peace process and partnered with Israel’s security services to try to keep the peace in the West Bank for nearly three decades.

Netanyahu’s survival doctrine became even more important after he was indicted in 2019 on charges of fraud, bribery and breach of trust. Now he must stay in power to stay out of prison, if convicted. (American readers, does this have a familiar ring?)

Therefore, when Netanyahu won re-election by a razor-thin margin in 2022, he was ready to climb into bed with the worst of the worst in Israeli politics to form a governing coalition that would keep him in power. I am talking about a group of radical Jewish supremacists whom a former Israeli Mossad chief called “horrible racists” and “a lot worse” than the Ku Klux Klan.

These Jewish supremacists agreed to let Netanyahu be prime minister as long as he retained permanent Israeli military control over the West Bank and, after Oct. 7, over Gaza as well. They effectively told Bibi that if he ever agreed to Biden’s U.S.-Saudi-Israel-Palestinian Authority deal — or agreed to an immediate cease-fire for the return of Israeli hostages and the release of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails — they would topple his government. Because those things would be precursors for implementing the Biden Doctrine and a possible territorial compromise one day in the West Bank.

Netanyahu got the message. He declared that he would end the war in Gaza after Israel achieved “total victory,” but never defined exactly what that would mean and who would govern Gaza in its wake. By establishing such an unattainable goal in Gaza — the Israeli military has been occupying the West Bank for 57 years and, as the daily clash demonstrates, has not achieved “total victory” over Hamas militants there — Bibi set things up so he alone can decide when the war in Gaza is over.
Which will be when it suits his political survival needs. That is certainly not today.

......Now back to America’s presidential election.
Netanyahu clearly knows that he has Harris in a bind. If he continues the war in Gaza until “total victory,” with more civilian casualties, he will force Harris either to publicly criticize him and lose Jewish votes or bite her tongue and lose Arab and Muslim American votes in the key state of Michigan. As Harris will likely find it hard to do either, this will make her look weak to both American Jews and American Arabs.

Based on my reporting and all my years watching Netanyahu, I would not be surprised if he actually escalates in Gaza between now and Election Day to make life difficult for the Democrats running for office. (The murderous Islamo-Fascist leader of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, also wants to see the war continue because it is tearing Israel apart and isolating America in the region.)

Netanyahu may do this because, I believe, he wants Trump to win and he wants to be able to tell Trump that he helped him win. Netanyahu knows that many in the rising generation of Democrats are hostile to Israel — or at least to the Israel he is creating.
Then, if Trump wins, I would not be shocked if Bibi declares that his “total victory” in Gaza has been achieved, agrees to some cease-fire to get back any hostages still alive, mumbles a few words about Palestinian statehood in the far-off, distant future to get the Saudi-Israel normalization deal and tells his craziest far-right partners to get lost while he runs for re-election without them. His likely platform: I brought total victory in Gaza and, with Trump, forged a historic opening between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Netanyahu wins. Trump wins. Israel loses. Gaza will still be boiling, of course. Israeli troops will still be occupying it. Israel will be more of a pariah state than ever, with more and more talented Israelis leaving for jobs abroad, but Bibi will have another term — and that is all that counts.

(If Harris wins, Bibi knows he just needs to snap his fingers and the pro-Israel lobby in Washington — AIPAC — and Republicans in Congress will protect him from any blowback.)
Then, one day down the road, I fully expect that Bibi will organize a ceremony to honor his “dear friend of many years, President Joe Biden.” It will be a new settlement in Gaza, called, in Hebrew, Givat Yosef. In English: “Joe’s Hill.”

The Hamas terrorists do not only kidnap Israelis and hold them hostage. They have done it to others including Yazidi's, typically forcing girls/women to marry Muslims and move to Gaza. This is how terrorists act -- and the world should not put up with these terrorists.

Kidnapped Yazidi woman stuck in Gaza for years yearns to be set free
Steve Maman, popularly nicknamed the “Jewish Schindler” for his efforts to rescue and aid thousands of Yazidi refugees, calls on Netanyahu to lend a shoulder and assume responsibility for aiding M.

Wonder if the U.S. will do much more than issue a strongly-worded two sentence long statement to the press.

American killed in West Bank, State Department says
The State Department says Aysenur Ezgi Eygi died on Friday
    https://www.foxnews.com/world/american-killed-west-bank-state-department-says

An American citizen has died during a protest in the West Bank, Fox News has confirmed.

The State Department says it is aware of "the tragic death" of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, although did not provide any more details.

The agency did not say how she died. However, Reuters, citing the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, reported that a U.S. citizen taking part in a protest against settlement expansion in the West Bank died of her wounds on Friday after being shot in the head by Israeli troops.

The incident occurred during a regular protest march by activists in Beita, a town near the city of Nablus that has seen repeated attacks by settlers, WAFA reports.

Fouad Nafaa, the head of the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, told Reuters the woman arrived at the hospital in a very critical condition, with a serious head injury.

"We tried to perform a resuscitation operation on her, but unfortunately she died," he said.

The Turkish government condemned the death and says that Eygi was also a Turkish citizen.

The Israeli military says it is looking into the report.

"Today (Friday), during Israeli security forces activity adjacent to the area of Beita, the forces responded with fire toward a main instigator of violent activity who hurled rocks at the forces and posed a threat to them," the IDF said in a statement.

"The IDF is looking into reports that a foreign national was killed as a result of shots fired in the area. The details of the incident and the circumstances in which she was hit are under review."

In a statement, the State Department tells Fox News it offers its deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.

"We are urgently gathering more information about the circumstances of her death and will have more to say as we learn more. We have no higher priority than the safety and security of American citizens."

Turkey's foreign ministry, in a statement, condemned the death labeling it as a "murder committed by the Netanyahu government."

"Israel is trying to intimidate all those who come to the aid of the Palestinian people and who fight peacefully against the genocide," the statement reads. "This policy of violence will not work.

"The Israeli authorities who commit crimes against humanity and those who unconditionally support them will be held accountable before international courts."

The rise in violent attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian villages in the West Bank has caused growing anger among Western allies of Israel, including the United States, which has imposed sanctions on a number of individuals.

    Reuters contributed to this report.

Israeli forces kill American-Turkish activist in the occupied West Bank
Twenty-six-year-old Aysenur Ezgi Eygi is shot in the head during a protest against illegal Israeli settlements.

Israeli forces have fatally shot an American-Turkish activist at a demonstration in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian news agency Wafa and a hospital official say.

Twenty-six-year-old Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was taking part in the protest against illegal Israeli settlements on Mount Sbeih in Beita, south of Nablus, on Friday when she was shot.

Fouad Nafaa, the head of the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, told the news agency Reuters that Ezgi Eygi arrived at the hospital in a critical condition with a serious head injury.

“We tried to perform a resuscitation operation on her, but unfortunately, she died,” he said.

Ezgi Eygi was shot when Israeli forces fired live ammunition, stun grenades and tear gas at demonstrators, Wafa reported, quoting local sources.

Jonathan Pollak, a witness, told Al Jazeera he found Ezgi Eygi “lying on the ground beneath an olive grove, bleeding to death.”

“I put my hand under her head to try and stop the bleeding and took her pulse. She had very weak pulse. We called the ambulance, and put her in the ambulance that evacuated her.”

Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas said “all legal measures” would be submitted to the International Criminal Court after the killing of Ezgi Eygi.

“We appeal to President Biden to stop all support to the occupying state because the occupying state is working hard to bomb hospitals and kill children and kill foreigners, including American nationals,” he told reporters.

The Israeli military issued a statement saying its forces had “responded with fire toward a main instigator of violent activity who hurled rocks at the forces who posed a threat to them”.

It said it was looking into reports “that a foreign national was killed as a result of shots fired in the area”.

During the incident, an 18-year-old Palestinian sustained injuries to the thigh from shrapnel, Wafa reported.

US ‘urgently’ seeks information as Turkey condemns shooting
United States Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew said on X: “We are urgently gathering more information about the circumstances of her [Ezgi Eygi’s] death, and will have more to say as we learn more. We have no higher priority than the safety and security of American citizens.”

US Department of State spokesman Matthew Miller said the US was “urgently gathering more information” and “will have more to say as we learn more”.

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement in which it said by killing its citizen, “Israel is trying to intimidate all those who come to the aid of the Palestinian people and who fight peacefully against the genocide. This policy of violence will not work.”

“The Israeli authorities who commit crimes against humanity and those who unconditionally support them will be held accountable before international courts,” the statement read.

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor expressed its “huge shock” following the killing in a post on X, saying “we know Israel will at best claim “we’ll investigate” & the international community will call on Israel to investigate itself”.

“This would be a tired sham; a stunt that we have seen countless times whenever the IDF [Israeli military] is caught red-handed. Only sanctions can deter such atrocities!” it said.

UK-Based Peace and Justice Project said in a post on X that the killing was a “result of an emboldened Israel, committing acts of ethnic cleansing with the support of UK and US governments”.

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters at a press conference that the organization wants to see a “full investigation of the circumstances” surrounding the incident and that “people should be held accountable”, adding that “civilians must be must be protected at all times”.

Ezgi Eygi was part of the International Solidarity Movement, which describes itself as a Palestinian-led movement “committed to resisting the long-entrenched and systematic oppression and dispossession of the Palestinian population, using nonviolent, direct-action methods and principles”.

She was demonstrating against Israeli settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, which has spiked since Israel’s war on Gaza began in October.

The vast majority of the international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal, and US President Joe Biden’s administration says the settlements are “inconsistent with international law”.

But the US has provided diplomatic cover for Israel over the years with Washington consistently using its veto power in the United Nations Security Council to protect Israel from diplomatic censure.
