I've been using them for a couple years. The data is good and it's free. For some reason, they haven't updated their data for a couple days now. Anyone heard anything? Are they shutting it down? http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?a=03&b=28&c=2006&d=03&e=28&f=2011&g=d&s=ge Showing Apr 26th right now for the latest price. Thanks.
Looks like they are back up (after I spent a couple hours trying to integrate a backup solution with eoddata.com )
I get the feeling that yahoo! soon will be charging for everything, even email. Stopping the free service for a day is a marketing tool to gauge the true demand and to price the service.
Yahoo data is weird...it's like they have an army of people hand-entering the data each night and sometimes they get a little behind. That's the only explanation I can think of for why it isn't always updated at the exact same time each day...and they occasionally have these multi-day hiccups.
I thought exactly the same thing. Thankfully there are alternatives, so they wouldn't achieve much by doing that.
