Your 100% right on ethonol, and eventually it will be discovered..but in the mean time joe and jane think they have found the next group of internet stocks. They probably have, and it always ends the same for them.

Cellulose Ethanol doesn't have that problem because it comes from organic waste like bark. We have enough waste to replace 25% of all gasoline used. Another 30% or so and we take big terrorist foriegn oil out of the picture entirely. The extra 30% can come from switchgrass grown in non-farmable areas, since it doesn't need much water or anything. It is basically a weed that is collected like mowing the grass.

There's other alternatives that are much better than this, for example ALTI & EEEI working on the next generation battery. Plug in hybrids or PEV's can wipe out oil forever by themselves with current technology.

I would like to see PEIX get into cellulose ethanol much more than they are, this would have more promise.

  4. Ethanol from organic waste does make sense but unfortunately the Bush ethanol trains aims for corn & wheat ethanol specially grown by big agricultural corporates. Biomass and organic waste ethanol are much better solutions.

Still, US and some states have been making some serious progress in alternative energy through solar. US is not messing around, is almost like an energy revolution. Third in Solar/PV behind Japan and Germany.

As for cars, electric vechiles beat any other version hands down. The technology has been around for a while and the statement that they are too weak is a complete myth. Fastest car on the face of the planet is electric.

So are PEIX and others going to be good put candidates pretty soon? PEIX shot up really fast and it just seems too good to be true for the mid-long term.
