From the rumor mill, it appears last Wednesday was a failed coup attempt with the army called in to create the failure. Paranoid Xi Jinping will have reason now for more paranoia which doesn't bode well for Chinese citizens.

His CV doesn’t impress me. I heard him in person decades ago when he first showed up in the global investment conferences as speaker. he is a failed journalist and commentator, not a successful political hack neither. None of the things he predicted came out right. If you were betting on his thesis, lot of money lost. Now he lives on a fringe, not sure he practices law regularly either. Maybe he can get someone refugee visas from China. Anyway, he is now a regular in John Batchelor podcast. I pretty much skip his episodes in particular.
