Xeon is usally better for servers. If you are putting more than 1 processor in your system - you have to go with the Xeon because they will work together. From Intel - They say A QUAD core naturally is TWICE as fast as any DUAL core processor and it will absolutely make your entire system much faster. Th new i7 processor, with 8 processing threads vs standard Quad Core (4 processing threads) is the new standard.
