  2. I heard you are a lawyer. I wonder who at the Bar you blew to pass the exam because you have the analytical mind of a
    toadstool.

A sign at the lobby hardly renders the theater a "gun free zone".
I can't imagine any regular pistol carrying person would have paid much attention to that sign. Despite the fact that it was the only theater according to the author within 20 minutes of the shooter's home that had a no guns sign there is no reason to believe that was a reason the shooter chose that theater. It may have been access, layout, possible escape routes.

And by promoting more gun presence in the general population you will simply drive an arms race. The guys who want to commit mass killings will just arm up more and use heavier weaponry and employ body armor.

Any chance you could convey this inconvenient truth to your fellow gun control nuts? They seem to think a sign is all that is needed, despite all evidence to the contrary. Not to mention common sense.
No? "No Gun" signs have what's known as "force of law" in CO. Ergo anyone ignoring such a sign is guilty of criminal trespass. MOST licensed to carry tend to abide by all relevant gun laws. Even if it's a stupid law. Personally, I probably would have ignored it though.
Unsubstantiated nonsense. The CO theater shooter was already armed with a semi auto rifle and body armor. Even though he had little if anything to fear from his intended victims.

    Scenario:

I walk into a theater wearing my concealed side arm despite a "no guns" sign on the door, in a state where that sign has force of law. A man with a gun slips in the theater and starts shooting.

Do I ignore that I'm already breaking the law, draw and fire on this guy. Facing possible if not probably prosecution? (Yes I could easily hit him in the low light conditions)

Or do I duck and hide keeping my firearm ready to use ONLY if the shooter is approaching me personally? While people/strangers are being shot around me.

  6. That strongly suggests he expected to face return gunfire. So much for the "no guns" theater selection theory.

As for your scenario, I suspect you probably would have just shit your pants.

Based on what exactly? More unsubstantiated baseless opinion you've pulled out of your ass?

first of all I was the one who started that thread about Romney so I was making a bit of joke.

secondly... kabong you need to chill the emotions a bit... much of the country seems to be like you... willing to pitch away their freedoms for a false sense of security.

if you big govt no liberty lefties go after this very slowly you will eventually win this one --- just like you all win most of the battles - as you and the neo cons slowly strip our freedom away.

  9. If you mean I have no empirical evidence to base a judgement on how you would respond if in the scenario you painted, you are right.

  10. Sorry Jem. I guess I have been taking on too many posters in this thread. Sincere apologies.

Time to chill and have a scotch on the rocks.
