#4 would likely be affective. It has been in islamic countries. I don't think we are ready for it here. We do need better ways to handle mental illness. But i'm not OK with locking people up and throwing away the key.
I mentioned #4 because I believe most career criminals have little or no concept or appreciation of execution. In large part due to the bleeding hearts, we've "sanitized" (if that's the right word) ourselves from the realities and consequences of committing capital crimes.
Not for you, for L-Kabong's benefit/education... (I've had him ON IGNORE! for a long time and can't quote his posts...) "... If you remember much from your high school history classes about the founding of this country, you know there was a great deal of controversy about what type of government the newly independent states should create. The first effort, the Articles of Confederation, was generally regarded as a failure. But what should replace them? Each state sent a group of representatives to meet in Philadelphia and hammer out a new agreement. The deliberations of the Constitutional Convention in 1787 were held in strict secrecy. Consequently, anxious citizens gathered outside Independence Hall when the proceedings ended, eager to learn what had been produced behind those closed doors. As the delegates left the building, a Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, ââ¬ÅWell, Doctor, what have we got?ââ¬Â With no hesitation, Franklin replied, ââ¬ÅA republic, if you can keep it.ââ¬Â Not a democracy, not a democratic republic. But ââ¬Åa republic, if you can keep it.ââ¬Â Over the past four decades I have recounted this story several hundred times. For many years I traveled the country giving speeches about the threats to this Republic. I always enjoyed the opportunity to talk to high school students when I could wrangle an invitation. When I did, I loved to tell them about the differences between a republic and a democracy. ââ¬ÅA lynch mob is democracy in action,ââ¬Â I would say. ââ¬ÅWhile if you believe someone is innocent until proven guilty, that they deserve their day in court and that a jury of their peers should decide their fate, then you believe in a nation of laws, not just the whims of a mob.ââ¬Â Another line I used a lot was, ââ¬ÅDemocracy is five wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch. If you were the sheep, which would you rather live inââ¬âa republic or a democracy?ââ¬Â I told them about the importance of ââ¬Åbinding men down with the chains of a Constitution.ââ¬Â That this was the only sure way to protect their freedom. And that anyone who wanted to change this republic into a democracy was an enemy of liberty...." Ditto... that last paragraph! But unfortunately... America has morphed into a Democracy... the "tyranny of the parasite class' vote" to receive more freebies from the government... paid for by other citizens, of course.
Reports this morning are out that Rahm Emanuel has opened his yap and stated that only law enforcement have a say on the 2nd amendment and that all other Americans don't have the right to say anything. Is this little shit a communist or what?
Law enforcement huh? I thought they only enforced laws, not interpreted them. That Emanuel guy isn't very bright is he?
Message to Rahm and his commie friends. <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=3723243
History is full of examples of delusional politicos with presumed grandiose powers... they either go on to become dictators or get "Julius Caesar'd"..
They are lining up with propaganda war. It just shows how divided the country has become, once again.
He's just doing his shill DNC mouthpiece routine, he also ordered all Chicago pension funds to divest from guns, gun manufactures, etc. With the murder rate in Chicago on an exponential climb, soon martial law in Chicago will be the only answer for those wanting to walk down the street...... they all have their day in the spotlight to spread their ilk, until SCOTUS knocks them down.
