Hydro, after all we been through I would of thought you would of had my back. Guess there is no love anymore for what is the right thing anymore. Maybe a NYC waitor does more physical work but remember I am the one that has the take the bet of someone that just lost a 100k hand in BJ and have him call me a fucking asshole and still smile. Sounds easy right.... Well most people here or anywhere couldn't put up with the mental abuse that we are "suppose" to take. Here are some links if anyone is interested in reading on how our billionaire runs his casino

    http://www.lvbusinesspress.com/articles/2006/11/17/news/news_update/doc455e474bb5575162688669.txt

and here is the law that we feel he is "CLEARLY BREAKING"

    *Nevada Law Statute NRS 608.160

Taking or making deduction on account of tips or gratuities unlawful; employees may divide tips or gratuities among themselves.

    1. It is unlawful for any person to: (a) Take all or part of any tips or gratuities bestowed upon his employees. (b) Apply as a credit toward the payment of the statutory minimum hourly wage established by any law of this State any tips or gratuities bestowed upon his employees.

    2. Nothing contained in this section shall be construed to prevent such employees from entering into an agreement to divide such tips or gratuities among themselves.

    ......

Now if you cleary read that with a open mind I hope you understand why I and 600 other people are so pissed off. It is clearly a abuse of power. I will be the first to tell you that I am overpaid but that doesn't give anyone the right to steal from me. Talk about overpaid.... Do you think our CEO whose salary went from 300k and gave himself a raise to 750k a year does a "much" harder job then I do???? Plus he receive thousands of shares of stock. Well I guess you are able to do that when you are the nephew of the owner.

I came here to elite trader and posted my posts about my job for mainly some kind of help. I have receive not one person on my side. I thought most traders were people that really didn't want much to do with the 8 hour day a corporation makes you do. I am really surprised on the lack of support from anyone here. I was really in need of help and sorry I couldn't find it here. So I guess I just keep wasting my time here since I don't even think anyone is even interested. I do thank everyone for reading as it did provide a place for me to put my thoughts and help me vent. I wish everyone here great trading success as I am still struggling. Hope everyone had a great turkey day.

  2. If you don't like it then quit. There is always somebody else that would like to have your job. They will even work for much less than you are. And if the bosses are only making $250.00 a day before taxes like you said, then I think they deserve a raise. You forgot to mention that ALL casino employee's including yourself also get to eat 3 free meals hot cooked meals a day and get free health insurance. All that adds up in expenses if you had to buy it yourself. Not too many jobs in the world that feed their help as good as Steve Wynn and the other casino's do.

There is no other job in the world that you can earn the kind of money you are earning without a college education. There are dealers at Wynn's casino that don't even have a high school diploma. High school diploma is not needed to be a casino dealer.

Being a dealer is the same as factory assembly line work. You should be thankful that you even have a job at that casino.

If you don't like it, then quit. Nobody will miss you at the casino. You can easily be replaced. There is over 1000 casino dealers waiting in line for your one job.

misinformed again... Our benefits are not free we have to pay for them but the company does help with the cost. We are able to eat for free but we have about 12 mins to eat it. I totally understand what u say when you say if you don't like it then quit, I just don't agree. Why don't I quit??? Maybe most of you have bowed down in the past the the company you work for while the break labor laws but when you take the only thing we are there for (tips) there comes a time where you just have to stand up and fight for what you feel is right. Wynn wanted the best of the best and the day 1 dealers most of them were that. We were all great people and great to be around.

Now my question to pumpkin brain.... Why do you feel that the casino floor deserves a raise. If you really knew there job and what they did all day, you would say they are highly overpaid. At least I have to do something for them to give me a tip.

jrlvnv, you don't make sense, But then again you are a casino dealer, so I expect that from you.

Nobody cares if the bosses say "hi" to them. NOBODY WANT'S THE BOSSES TO SAY HI TO THEM. Customers could care less. Nobody wants a boss to come up to them and say "hi" to the them anyways. BOSSES ALWAYS DO THAT AND MESS UP OUR COUNT AND OUR CONCENTRATION. So you are wrong, they do come up to us.

Customers just want to sit down and play and win and not be bothered with small talk like you do with customers. You sound like one of those idiot casino dealers that bother the customers with nosy, meaningless, stupid converstation when they sit down.

Your job as a dealer is to DEAL THE CARDS AND SHUT THE HELL UP!!

REPEAT!! DEAL YOUR CARDS DEALER AND SHUT THE HELL UP!!

Your benefits are same as FREE. $30.00 a month is the same as FREE. Go try to buy health insurance for a family of 5 and see if you can get it for $30.00. YOU CAN'T. So your health insurance the casino gives you is the same as FREE.

You alos have longer than 12 minutes to eat you liar. You are on 20 minute breaks for your WHOLE 8 hour shift all day. You get a 20 minute break EVERY 40 minutes. EVERY casino dealer does. That is the rules in EVERY casino. Stop lying because you are making youself look pathetic. If you can't eat a sandwich or a meal in 20 minutes then something is wrong with you. It doesn't take 20 minutes to eat a turkey dinner. Don't forget, you got a home cooked hot fresh turkey dinner for free from the casino. They even prepared it for you with pumpkin pie. All fresh and homemade.

Now stop complaining. There are tons of families that never got to eat a thanksgiving because they don't make the kind of money you earn on your job. So they went without thanksgiving. Be thankful and stop wining.

  6. What makes you think you are so great? And why in the world do you think you are so great to be around? You are not great to be around. All you have been doing on this thread is bi*ching and complaining. You sound like a narcissist. Nobody likes to be around negative people that complain all the time like you are doing. You have to build yourself up and pat youself on the back because nobody else will.

I think you are overpaid and you should step aside so somebody else can do your job that appreciates your job. You don't sound like you are deserving of that job. You are complaining because your 100K a year job got cut down a few thousand bucks a year. Big deal. Plenty of people with college degree's would like to have your job. So stop wining before Steve Wynn gives you your walking papers. Casino floor bosses are underpaid and you are overpaid. That is why Steve Wynn gave the bosses a raise. Now it is even.

  7. Well, in fairness; Some of the (non-counting) tourists might not want the same dealer treatment as you would. They are there to gamble (-EV), relax & drink, so they might want their dealers a bit more chatty.

I worked for a company that abused power all over the place. I took them to the labor board and got some back pay but they get rid of you eventually for that. When they were firing me I told them of the abuses they had incurred since the last trip to the labor board and so I was not fired, I was let go with a nice separation package and I signed papers saying I would not sue them. They were one of the reasons I studied trading, when they started to mess my life up I simply retired in place and went to work on another career, screw 'em if they don't appreciate talent.

If you don't like your employer then you are on your way out, it is that simple, try to get something for your trouble. If they view employees as replaceable parts, and that seems to be what MBA's are for, to make sure everybody is a replaceable part, then that is their view, there is no way to change it. I used to get the argument that I should be glad I had a job and I never bought into that, I should be happy to have a job where they treat employees like shit, line their pockets with stock options, sell products that don't work and stay in business because of their legal clout? Is somebody bullshitting me?

Most Americans will give you that bullshit that you should be glad to have a job in any shithole run by unethical people. It is because they don't know anything else. I had jobs in consulting companies, I had a job with a German company, etc where they paid a lot to attract the talent and they treated people really well to keep the talent and they were ethical in business. It paid off extremely well when they did that. It is my business model going forward for sure. I can't believe that a hospitality based business like a Casino would not do whatever it took to keep the employees happy because the employees will treat the customers the way they are being treated, first rule of that business actually.

You have to give them 40% of your tips because you work for somebody else. You are a nobody. You are just a dealer assembly line worker. Your job is a brainless job that requires no skill, no college education, no reading books. (Daytrading requires skill, and tons of reading and studying). Oh, and lets not forget that you get FREE meals EVERY DAY. Your job requires that you show up for work and have fingers on your hands to deal the cards. Nothing more. You do assembly line work that is routine day after day. It is simple. Even a monkey can be trained to deal cards. They did away with the casino change girls because people don't need to buy coins to put in slot machines any more. They put real dollar bills in the slot machine -$1, $5, $10, $20, $100, so they don't need to buy change from the change girls, and soon they will figure out a way to get rid of all the dealers with computers also. Then you won't have a job.

Steve Wynn can fire you if he want's to and then you will have no job. And you won't be able to do nothing about it. You can easily be replaced with somebody who can do a better job than you and will work for less. You don't sound like a good employee to me. If I were Steve Wynn or one of your bosses, I would FIRE you for acting like a retard and complaining all the time. Your actions on this forum are showing everybody why Steve Wynn is changing the rules to get rid of dealers like you. You don't do nothing anyways but complain about money on your day off and hustle nice customers for tips when you are there. Listen to yourself on this thread. You sound like a GREEDY casino dealer. Just pathetic.

It wouldn't surprise me if Steve Wynn makes all his casino's non-tipping casino's. He almost made his Treasure Island casino a non-tipping casino a few years back. He was going to pay all his tipped employee's a flat salary of 50K a year or something like $30.00 an hour. Dealers, bartenders, waitresses(food, cocktail), maids, etc...There are plenty of food waitresses that work at Denny's that would love to make a flat 50K a year and not have to worry about tips. Same with dealers. Lots of dealers in low paying dealer jobs at some casino's that would love to make 50K a year and not stress out weather they are going to get tipped or not. A non-tipping casino would make a much happier gambling environment for both the dealers and customers. Dealers would be more friendly to customers because they won't be expecting a tip and customers would no have to worry about bad dealers like you harrassing them because you were rude to them at the table and that is why you were not tipped. TIP means To Insure Proper Service. You have to serve me and deal to me weather I tip you or not. I don't have to tip you. I can go to any dealer table and play, but you HAVE to deal to me weather you like it or not. You don't deserve a tip.

I don't think that dealers should get tipped. I think all the casino's should be non-tipping. People should be able to go into a casino and enjoy themselves and not be harrassed for tips from dealers like you.

If you were my dealer, I would stiff you and not tip you just because of the way you present yourself by complaining about money on this forum. You are greedy and you don't deserve a tip. You have to deal your cards to me and I don't have to tip you. If you refuse to deal your cards to me, then you get FIRED. If you are unhappy with your job, then quit. I don't think you will be employed there very much longer anyways. If you complain on your job the way you are complaining on this forum, then you won't be there long.
