From my location (Europe) I no longer can reach https://www.yahoofinanceapi.com/ Is the site down? Can others reach it? Or has maybe a FATfinger in this BigBrotherLand wrongly blocked that site when he in fact was blocking some Russian web sites? As they shamelessly do nowadays here over in this totalitarian Europe of 2022.
https://syncwith.com/yahoo-finance/yahoo-finance-api The urls in the article work for me. Example: https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v8/finance/chart/aapl
Thanks for looking. The above first link does not function here. It says: " This site can’t be reached The webpage at https://syncwith.com/yahoo-finance/yahoo-finance-api might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. " The 2nd link is ok. The API-Links like in the 2nd link above do work ok also here. Only the link for the account-login does not work, ie. that in the subject.
Why the said site is important: Paying subscribers do login and look how many of their monthly contingent (for example of 20,000 requests) remains. But if the login-site is down then of course they can't know, and then they act blindly and risk to eat-up all of their monthly contingent much earlier...
The second url is the actual API. So it is not down. The first one is just an article on how to use it. If you can't see that one (quite odd) there are tons of articles about the Yahoo API. I always use the API without authentication, it is an open service. Something is fishy here. The url that you are trying to access in the fist place is not the Yahoo API, I can't reach that one either.
I was thinking I'm subscribed to the API product of YahooFinance. I'm paying monthly fees for it. The API service still functions well, but the site where one can do web-login and see his/her subscription data as well change the subscription tariff isn't accessible anymore... Btw, thanks to everybody for testing/investigation.
You were using a scam website because to my knowledge it's not legal to resell that data. It wasn't "bigbrotherland" who took it down but most probably Yahoo's lawyers who stopped the illegal business. The API is free for personal use: https://github.com/ranaroussi/yfinance
