    I've got extra storage so that wouldn't be a problem at all. However, it seems the guy just wants out of the whole thing. I can't say I blame him, as I'm sure that project requires a significant amount of ongoing time and effort just to keep it up to date. He probably reached the breaking point when he realized it was a never-ending task that would most likely never help pay the bills.

    Unfortunately, this is just one more sign that the "free internet" is collapsing.

    I'm surprised that Don didn't take up Gene's offer to pay for server charges.

    I'm also surprised that he (Don) didn't sell the site, have advertising, sponsorships, paid subscriptions etc., but then again there is more to life than money :)

    If I do my sums correctly, if he finished college in the early 1950s (reference his bio on the site - see earlier posts about how to access cached version), he would be about 70 years old now. So it looks like he has found other things to do in retirement.

    If proof was ever needed of the speed of change in the online brokerage industry, there are some parts of the site that are already out of date, even though the site was updated through to late 2001 / early 2002.
