What China has is a lot of missiles. Taiwan if it was smart will stockpile and develop a lot of portable missiles, surface to air, surface to ships, etc. , drones, advanced manpads from the UK, Tow missiles. That would make it very hard for China. Buying F-16s that China will just bomb on the tarmac or overwhelm with their sheer number of fighter jets does not make any sense.
I'm reminded of this sketch by many if these threats. Sure Vkad can fuck over Syrians and Georgians but now a nuclear threat has been made by an evil genius with a very weak hand if cards. They can't use a nuke with neighbouring Nato nations.

Russia is back to saber rattling, claiming they would launch a first strike of nuclear weapons. Well folks, nuclear deterrence doesn't work if Putin is not going to be deterred from using nuclear and chemical weapons because his military is losing a battle where they brutally assaulted another nation. Of course, it is more likely that Putin is merely pushing nuclear threats so the West will accede to his aggression and let him keep eastern Ukraine. Are we going to allow Putin to repeat this pattern over and over again? Let him seize Poland because he threatens to use nuclear weapons if we stop him? How about if he seizes Estonia, Latvia , and nearby countries - are we going to allow Putin to keep these countries because he threatens to use nuclear weapons? Enough of this bullshit. The West needs to call Putin out. Tell him explicitly to get out of Ukraine or else. Otherwise we are just delaying WW3 by a few years when an emboldened Putin repeats his behavior.
