WTI Crude (CME vs ICE)

Discussion in 'Commodity Futures' started by macattack, Jun 22, 2012.

  1. I've been trying to learn more about oil rather than just trading it blindly & had a few questions:

    1. If trading CL on NYMEX/CME is there any reason to monitor the WTI Crude trading on ICE?

    2. Does WTI trade on any other exchanges?

    3. Is there any reason to trade Brent Crude instead of WTI?

    4. Is monitoring the Brent/WTI spread helpful to daytrading CL?

    Thanks.

    NO.....its the leader already

    2. Does WTI trade on any other exchanges?

wti is the price of light in the midwest. CME is the leader

    3. Is there any reason to trade Brent Crude instead of WTI?

no, unless you like trading much weaker volume and larger spreads

    4. Is monitoring the Brent/WTI spread helpful to daytrading CL?

not unless your trading the spreads

    Monitoring volume is very helpful.Volume rises-you buy,volume falls-you out.Anything else is a cacashka

How is that so ? There was a counterparty to every one of those trades.
