wtf was that at 4pm. huge high vol selling

Discussion in 'Index Futures' started by stock777, Jun 26, 2007.

  1. I am not stressed now. It is not 100 mil. Just 1 mil + about 10K -- sorry for the typo, if that's what it was. I'll admit to a little nervousness now, see my mixups about the cash and futures for confirmation of that state of mind. It is true that I am hoping at this point, but who doesn't enter a trade hopefully?

  2. Oh, man! Selling at the bid, 1498.25! Where is the confidence?

  3. Full disclosure: My account was up about 10K during RTH. I see that is now down about 5K from that high. I remain confident and ready to buy at 1497.50.

  4. you know china is mulling a rate hike. =)

edit: to be more serious the probability es touches 1500 is very high.. so trade wise, you could buy the bank and set it off at 1500.

but the risk it travels or opens down 10 points is high too.

To illustrate a point.. usdjpy broke 121 handle most recently and it proceeded to travel past by 80 pips or more.. and never tested 121 handle for awhile.

  5. Damn china! Bad ingredients in tooth paste and pet food. Just this morning there was another article about their malfeasance in yet another product. Try some particle board furniture from China -- it'll choke you! Unbridled capitalism kills!

US retail sector pretty much carries a "Made in China" label on its forehead. Spectre could well be right there, any possible increase in China's IRs might help influence a solid correction in the US markets, it would have to be priced in either way.

Maybe it's back to basics time............Trading 101, what's the difference between Fresh money flow or stops kicking in and their effects.......hence every Buy and Sell need to be discriminated as to their purpose but, I'm not for teaching 101 level, henc I'll let go of this discussion, specially since the valuable insight and defining the market action through the periscope of Volume don't fortunately seem to be helping you.
    good trading

  9. Subprime will force their hand. Rate cuts later this year. Subprime is the elephant in the room? Or am I hoping that because I have a 10 year note at 4.35% By the way, my 10 yr. at 4.35 is prima facie evidence that I am a looser, no?

But notice the bid on ES is now at 198.75! I have a profit, if only I'd take it! Yeah, yeah, I should have sold when the rate dipped around that area, but hope springs eternal in the human breast, no?

Dude, it's a tick, mellow out! FWIW I'm long over in ER2 where we've been having much more fun than your ES. A major shakeout and it dropped a full point in a split second. Lucky I had my stops wide. Just crawling out of the hole now, so just chill--everything looks kosher to me at this point in time.
