i was there and was short going into that spike. not pleasant.

and i was there for that crude spike from 63 -> 68. in fact, what great trades ... i remember flipping rbob from 2.03 -> 2.12 in 15 seconds.

  2. What's the big deal about a 5-point drop after the close.

That's pretty normal guys, and it's showing the shift on sentiment, that's all, how much times we had 4-5 points up on pre market or ah on no reason.

1480 on SPX should be the next support area.

  3. Why does it matter what anyone here thinks of the trade? If we agree will you buy more? Or maybe you'll exit immediately when trading resumes?

If your reasoning for entering is based on a proven strategy and you employ sound money management, then, you are a winner.

Incredible but true, how uninformed we are....
From 15:56 to 16:14 there were:
-116,906 Sell Contracts and 73,911 Buy contracts!
For a difference of -42,995 in an 18 minutes Time span......... No Oscar whatever or what have you..
The market is 3 ES points short of entering a Down Trend and this was an after hour Hedge to not disturb the stock prices!!!
How much is each ES contct worth? just multiply it by the above difference = 3B

  5. My broker may fade me, for what it's worth. I may be one of the ones they expect to bust out, soon. I hope they lose. It's only money. Easy come, easy go. Que sera sera! Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waitin' for a train ...

After making more than $10000 in the rth, I figure I can afford to take some risk. The rewards go to those who take risks, unless they don't. ES ask is at 1499.00! Cash out now or wait? I think I'll wait.

They are still selling to me. Just got a "beep" for a buy at 1498.25. Now in for 68 contracts. Backruptcy looms! But there are more buys all
the way down to ..97.50. When will this nightmare end?

    What is wrong??????
Is the fault in me or in my stars?????

  7. "Sell" and "buy" contracts? I assume you're referring to 117k hitting the bid and only 74k lifting the offer? Meaningless, but that's a net $2,150,000 per ES handle.

What use is the notional value of the 43,000 contracts? OK, so we trade to zero and those buyers are out $3B. :p

  8. Hit at 1497.75.

    Am I scared?

    No.

    Am I crazy brave? Maybe.
I stand ready to buy at 1497.50.

  9. oi I use to do things like that in the bond pit. =)

your never bigger then the market, and lack of discipline or lacsidasicle trades can lead to sizeable losses.

I remember placing some 30 year bond trades towards the close, and the market kept moving against me, I kept on adding more and more, that was the start of a 10 handle rally in bonds.. in 96..or so.

    =)

edit: it was rumored some biggies lost 7 mil or more in a week during that move, and noone could explain the move.
