Havent used it either, but i assume that any time you post something on the internet it leaves a trail, provided someone who knows what they are doing has a vendetta against you.
Shortie, you are not thinking hard enough. Look, contrary to what you see in action movies, most criminals are not looking for "action". If I'm walking down the street and I see a bunch of guys that look like they are going to start trouble with me and I show them I am armed, they are not going to think, cool..gun battle! They are going to look for another target. That is a fact. These guys do not want to get into a shootout, they do not want to get shot. Oh sure, Shortie, leader of the gang tells his buddies, don't worry guys, he can only kill one of us. That's hardly a consolation to the guy that is going to get killed. No, criminals don't work that way. They try to avoid confrontation. Or they look for easy marks. No one wants to start shit with someone that has a gun. So the actual scenario would be more like #4. Armed criminals approach a target, sees that target is armed and moves on to an easier target. Let's say, some liberal named shortie. Criminals, just like traders, are looking for opportunity.
arming everybody is an example of the typical short-term planning that has ruined US. ask yourself why US has the most crimes while having some of the most lenient gun laws among civilized countries. trying to solve a problem with short term patches simply creates more problems down the road.
Once again, you fail with the facts. No one is talking about arming everyone. It would be your "choice". The fact of the matter is, just like drugs, making something legal does not mean everyone is going to do it. IL and Chicago in particular has the strictest gun control laws in the US. And guess where the murder capital of the US is? Chicago!!!! Gun control does not work! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/25/chicago-once-again-the-us_n_137804.html
why not enforce the concealed gun law instead? to jail or to cut fingers of the f*kers who don't obey? the long-term goal should be less guns of the streets not more IMO
Seriously, kidding aside, are you telling me that "you" personally are safer without a gun then with. Not the people around you, but YOU. Are you really saying that?
I paid my way through College as a Police Officer. I can ASSURE you guys that the police CANNOT get to you in time to help you 99% of the time in a life or death situation. They ALWAYS get there after the damage has been done, take the reports, photos, and start the investigation. This won't help you if you're laying on the cold ground dead, brain damaged, or paralyzed. In what I have seen over those strange years as a full time Officer, I FIRMLY believe that if you are a law-abiding person with a desire to protect yourself and your family from the harm brought forth by scumbags, ARM YOURSELF, and learn two things: 1. Trigger control under pressure 2. Sight alignment under pressure (i.e., learn how to overcome the tunnel vision you'll get when in a life/death situation enough to acquire a good sight picture, and squeeze, squeeze, squeeze.) And if you're really serious, and may be rather new to combat related shooting scenarios, I HIGHLY recommend a Crimson Trace lazer. Wherever that red beam is, will be where the bullet goes. VERY effective in low-light situations! Very! Hope none of you are EVER in a situation where some thug scumbags want to harm you badly, but if you are I'd rather you have what you need to protect yourself and your family from harm. Remember, you aren't shooting to kill. You're shooting to live...
