WTF IB, why don't any of your features work - why release features that don't work?

Can you people point me to a broker that you think is better than IB? I personally don't know of any.

  4. You're not helping any new trader with this info. IB is probably the best online broker around.
I agree that the features in TWS are shaky at best and should be removed from TWS asap. The few noobs like yourself who need these tools for free can find them somewhere else as well. Any serious trader would start out by selecting real tools and connect them to the (excellent) API that TWS offers.

IB set out to give the world direct-acces broking for near-bottom prices, and they succeeded. EVerything else is unimportant.

Frankly, I think you have an agenda of your own. I hope Barron takes good notice of who are spamming their clueless and damaging comments about IB.

While I continue to read posts stating negative things about IB (& the concomitant replies from supporters), I do not believe any broker should be judged by the quality of their charts. If you are serious about your trading, invest in a chart service.

If otoh, a broker somewhere actually does have usable charts, it should be considered a positive.

  6. I agree with you. It is obvious to me that TOM134 has an agenda of harming IB with false accusations. Some of TOM134's dishonest material has already been deleted. I hope Baron takes more aggressive action.

Let me give an example of this dishonesty. Tom134 posted that customers were leaving IB in droves, because of technology problems. I challenged him to provide one single shred of evidence to support his claim, that customers were leaving in droves, but he never responded. I presume he has absolutely no such evidence. I think that the incident demonstrated his dishonesty and his agenda to harm IB's reputation. I would provide links to the relevant postings, but I can't because they were deleted.

  7. One can only hope the hidden agenda is a personal one. If it would surface that some of these guys are acting on behalf of the competition it would have serious repercussions. Not easy to prove, but not impossible either.

  8. IB has been working great for me lately.

No problems lately, and very few over the last 5 years.

Super broker that allows the DIY system trader to reach new heights of profitability.

    Highly recommended.

"Just read here on ET the daily complaints regarding IB:

    a) data unreliable

    b) charts unreliable

    c) trade execution unreliable

    d) very poor customer service "

To the point a) With the big $ every trader is saving on the commissions compared to other brokers, what would be the reason not to take another quote feed if indeed the datas were unreliable? Let me guess, is someone here not just cheap, but extremely cheap?

To the point b) Is someone slowing down his PC by watching videos or playing games and then wondering that the charts are not up to date?

To the point c) If someone is trading on the NYSE with all those 'nice' specialists, you should know if you are an experienced trader that your fills don't depend of the broker (who ever he may be)

To the point d) If you are an experienced trader, you wouldn't need someone to hold your hand and the reason why the fees are low, is because the staff is limited.
But even if a Xyz broker would have an advisory service, the staff wouldn't enter the orders at your place, so the only person to blame if you made a mistake is YOU. If the market is too volatile and you put market orders, don't criticize the broker.

The reasons why IB is a great broker :

    a) The quick order entry, with the possibility to change the price in one second and I didn't meant secondS.
(I looked at the demo of Sogo and it would cost you big $$$$, because their system is so slow)

    b) From one platform, you can trade several instruments from different countries at the same time.

    c) IB allows the access to more stock exchanges than any other broker.
...And how many exchanges does your broker offer to trade on?

and we shouldn't forget the point d) : the low commissions
