It’s pretty clear he doesn’t understand the point of anti-discrimination laws.

He’s either a troll or he’s actually a sad angry man in real life. Either way he’s not worth your, my, or anyone else’s time.

You're right of course. At one point I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he just had a bit of Aspergers, but then came the anti-semitism, then the homophobia, and at one time he even had something against Italians! So definitely sad little man.

Many valid points. Cultures do make people different. 90% of inter-racial crimes are committed by blacks.

It's interesting to read what the actual Bureau of Justice Statistics are for the point in question (https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/cv18.pdf because again I don't pull numbers out of my ass and then later claim that of course they're "estimates"). And perhaps living in abject poverty influences behavior as well? No, that's just crazy talk isn't it, in your experience?

  5. OJ was found not guilty in a criminal court but punished in an civil court therefore he was not punished twice.

But civil suits are the main driver of safety regulations in this.country. Most of the deaths from someone or a company's negligence never receive a criminal.punishmnet. How do you jail an entire company ? Also negligence leading to death is rarely punished severely in criminal cases.

Civil liability is what forces companies to take extra precautions and to make sure individuals follow safety procedures when building things for the public or providing a service. Could cite numerous cases here.

Do people abuse the system with frivolous lawsuits and over sue? Of.course. But the good far outweighs the bad. Remember that next time your child gets on a swing set, anamusement park ride, has a surgery with an inept doctor or an company buries information that their product is harmful. There are no criminal.actuons or punishments..it is for civil.courts to enforce punishments.

Abuses come with the territory so don't focus on the abuses as the courts are doing.more and more to reduce frivolous lawsuits and exaggerated settlements.

  8. You are a UPenn graduate? They should revoke your graduation certificate. Your cited statistic is as dumb as it gets. Committed crimes by absolute numbers? The type of crimes are not taken into account and the fact that Hispanics and Blacks are minorities hence each crime they commit weighs a lot higher than crimes committed by whites.

  9. I get your point and my point was that most of the bad can be eliminated by having a single suit, well trained judges, who decide on jail times and monetary payments to make those who suffered whole not in principle or for punitive reasons but to truly look at the damage done and a commensurate financial payment. All the existing problems of juries will be eliminated and the existence of frivolous law suits as well. Judges can throw out law suits that are frivolous right away. Individuals can be sent to prison, corporations can be assessed financial damages and regulatory licenses revoked or removed. If judges were better trained and peoples' lives did not hinge on totally untrained jurors how is that not immediately improving the legal system and removing all the bad that comes with the current system? The criticism of erroneous judgement by single judgement can be countered by allowing appeals in principle.

  10. Ha of course @Sig cannot reply to this because he knows exactly that I am right. He loves to play the race and gender card but when directly confronted with facts he hesitates. I bet he would equally over think whether he would aim to hire 50% women in his company if in his jurisdiction any woman could disappear for over a year for maternity leave and he has to continue to pay significant amounts of their benefits and wages and keep their job open and place them back in the same or similar position once a woman chooses she got enough pleasure out of playing mommy and wants to again satisfy her primary satisfaction, career woman.
