there is no right or wrong anyway, it all comes down to a personal preference. You might be happy with $100k a year, not having a boss, a possible envy for a guy that just bought a brand new Ferrari using his fat yearly bonus and of course/perhaps vice versa.
a ferrari vs. freedom..........................you just answered your own question..............i choose freedom,i`m the one to be envied. his sellout point was a ferrari....................i`m happy with my 3.25i.,no ceiling on my income & the most precious asset of all, freedom!
When you live in a materialistic world, there is no such thing as freedom. Free of a boss does not constitute freedom, you will always be dependant on making that $100k per year to continue enjoying your "freedom".
Spooz,I mean this with no disrespect in any way,but unless you are exceedingly talented at your craft, one will NEVER make the big bucks on Wall street with that attitude... Especially at Goldman
you`re missing the point............who says it HAS to be 100K? & even if it is....so be it. you`re relying solely on your individual talent....not a paycheck from a firm..................& yes,i certainly will enjoy!
I like being my own boss, but I will swap the original poster's $100k per year for $1m per year for a couple of years. That's equivalent to 20 years of freedom trading Maybe you just hate the thought of having to answer to someone else. Basically, if you were offered now $1m for 1 years work you would turn it down because of freedom issues?
the only "issues" i see hear is your lack of confidence in your self. speaking of freedom,i`m going back to the giants/bears game & chinese food...wasted enough time here for now.......ciao.
