Exactly. This thread is going to turn into one of those "Secret" threads again most likely. Filled with New Age nonsense.
Maybe so. The Secret was a phenomena. You think it is "New Age" garbage? What is your "secret" to life? While I do not like the commercialization of the "Secret". most of what it says is true and has been in the human consciousness for eons. The bible and your so called "christianity" is a derivative and regurgitation of that. Most of the parables of Jesus are "ancient wisdom" teachings. I think they are applicable to 21st century life and even to trading.....
"Buy wisdom, do not sell it." ~ Holy Bible To be 'learned' is to have lots of information. To be 'wise' is to have context . Lots of information without the correct context is meaningless. A trader who spends time learning the ins and outs of the stochastic indicator has knowledge. But he lacks the wisdom to see that the market is non-stationary. He has the incorrect context of the market. So he will go on trying to investigate using stochastics with different parameters on different time frames, with no results. A more general example is - an individual who gathers information and knowledge as to how to become a CEO. He is learned. But is he 'wise'? A wise individual has context - wisdom says that you will only be happy when you do what you love. Will being a CEO make him happy? The interesting thing is, for someone to get additional information is easy. But for someone to change his context (gain wisdom) is difficult. Try to tell someone that he should not be a wage slave (even though he is making 6 figures), and that he should follow his dreams. He will look at you like you are crazy.
================= Well nice call on the weekly bottom,Joab; but probably not'' the bottom'' LOL, but it could be. Fortunately Proverbs [just checked ] is over 3,000 years old; so its not new age nonsense, as is Shirley McClain song ''what ever will be will be'' Lots of good agricultural illustrations in there; sell the corn or the people will curse you-Paraphrase of a principle/Proverb.He did not mention the timing; just the principle...................................................... One of my favorites, even if its hard to believe sometimes - In all labor there is profit
