    based upon the news Madoff didn't start off with the intention of the ponzi scheme, proof of that was collectively he was trading 50m shares a day on the Nasdaq alone.

    I assume he is in the similiar state as many of the hedge funds world wide where they got caught either long or short and initially trying to save face, did what they / he thought necessary instead of stepping up to the plate with accurate information.

  3. You misunderstood completely.
    If someone scammed Exxon/Mobil for couple of millions they would hardly noticed . They gave their chairman 250 + millions as a retirement package .

  4. Yes, but that was so he could fill up his SUV for his ride into the sunset when oil prices were somewhat higher.
