Would you pay $27,000 for software?

  1. Orca's stuff is on the lower-end of enterprise desktop, price-wise. Take a look at anything from Thomson, etc. Their stuff starts at $250k for 10 users.

  2. The VaR alone would make you wet-yourself. Understand that my license is old and no longer supported. The brute-force stuff is so elegant and mind-blowing fast. I don't know how they currently handle the licensing fees. Write them an email and say you're from an fund. =)

    There is a guy in Russia that will unlock the student version... lol

  3. lol the SV is not actually locked.. they've just don't include it with all the add-ons.. with all the add-ons its 27k.

    riskarb, I just checked u out, u seem to be a exotics vetran.. you got a prime broker? where are you? what's your background, u a hedgi, worked for a bank? interesting trades I just saw..

  4. I went from listed to OTC a while ago. Worked for three named funds and now work for some vcap guys in SF who have a offshore fund as a side. I've traded exotics for the last two years.

    In the list of clients didn't see anyone like SAC mentioned. Wonder what software they use for TA. :) Thanks for the links to the student version, etc.
    Now I see Tudor Proprietary Trading :)
