  1. Joemiami has made 242 posts and he whines and name calls in pretty much all of them. I really dont know why people like him feel the need to have such filth constantly come out of their mouths. Cant imagine that his parents are proud of such a foul mouthed man he turned out to be.

With that logic, why not make minimum wage 10% of what it is now. Better yet, make it zero, full employment for everyone.

  4. In Economics Departments, a Growing Will to Debate Fundamental Assumptions

“You lose your ticket as a certified economist if you don’t say any kind of price regulation is bad and free trade is good,” said David Card, an economist at the University of California, Berkeley, who has done groundbreaking research on the effect of the minimum wage.

The experience of Mr. Card’s graduate students suggests how the process can work. Mr. Card is by no means on the fringe, but he said his research on the minimum wage in New Jersey “caused a huge amount of trouble.” He and Alan B. Krueger, an economist at Princeton, found that contrary to what free-market theory predicts, employment actually rose after an increase in the minimum wage.

    ------------

Imagine that, employment rose after an increase in the minimum wage. Robert Rubin, a liberal economist which is another way of saying, a competent economist, did some research last year showing states with a higher minimum wage had higher growth rates than states with a lower minimum wage.

Watch out for those 'elite economists' (aka conservative economists):

  5. ^^ This.

If reducing minimum wage increases employment, then by definition, why not make it 0? Eliminating minimum wage increases employment numbers, but does not increase the wealth of the worker. Minimum wages are there to protect workers from greedy employers.

Why don't we get rid of child labour laws as well? That way our preschool kids can finally start earning their keep...

The answer to OP is yes, but forget it, it wont happen. There is just too many economic ignorants working for government, there is also the ones who know it would help but are afraid of coming across as a heartless business lobbist

If the minimum wage is such a boon to our economy then why don't we send this thing into overdrive and make the minimum wage $100 an hour? Just think of all the jobs that will create.

  10. Why lower minimum wage when you can just debase the dollar?
