And come up with the next innovation ourselves to make chip technology obsolete. Stopping forced technology transfer and preventing technology theft is only a temporary measure to delay China's reverse engineering.
Exactly, where the loyalty lies, not to China, given the recent news on sanctions and all that. If statistic model is correct and, if human intelligence are belt curves distribution, then there are more high IQ individuals in China than in the US. Someone somewhere on the earth will make the next breakthrough in tech, I just hope it is in the US. But I can’t rule out it wouldn’t happen in China, or wish it mustn’t.
I am sure this is already happening now. It makes no sense to believe China can't make chips when so much chip manufacturing is in Taiwan. Our AI breakthroughs are all pretty much open source so they don't need to hack anything, just install Git. I had just read they are working on a train for 2025 that will go 373 mph. We have Amtrak Acela that goes 150 mph for 50 miles. Working on getting that up to 165 mph. Anything involving the manipulation of atoms and not bits, we have already totally lost. If you ask people what the biggest tech advance has been in the US the past few years they would probably say TikTok. All I can think of is sports betting, OnlyFans and crypto?
Taiwan is not China. Taiwan is able to make chips now because we invested in them to do so. This is the biggest reason why China wants to get its hands on Taiwain.
Nobody ever said that it mustn't be China but whether we wish it mustn't or must is not up to us; it's up to what China really is. All we have seen from China within the last few years are nothing but kidnapping innocent foreign businessmen, hacking into corporate to steal personal information of American citizens, building geopolitical infrastructures that exclude specifically all of the western nations (the very nations that made China rich) and detaining foreign cargos of goods traded under agreed trade agreements at Chinese port without reason and indefinitely causing billions of dollars of damages and losses, it makes it really hard to not wish the next invention mustn't come from China especially when its supreme leader says this: "anyone who attempts to do so will face broken heads and bloodshed..." all because what? Because Trump wanted to balance the trade a bit? Trump didn't just levy tariffs on China; he didn't just want to balance the trade with China; he went all around the world rewriting, renegotiating trade agreements, and levying tariffs with everybody including countries like Germany and Canada. You don't hear Canada wishing the USA to face "broken heads and bloodshed"? It's China that's always treated the US and the West as enemies, never one of their own. All those speeches and sayings about "great friendship" and "peace", that's all fake! It's all to get our money. As soon as China's got our money, one thing not to their liking, it's "broken heads and bloodshed". LOL So if China has always regarded us as enemies, why can't we wish that the next invention mustn't come from China? The same that we wish the next invention mustn't come from ISIS or the Taliban? At least ISIS and the Taliban don't have nuclear warheads or supersonic weapons.
You must be in a fantasy land when you write the first paragraph, or just live in your imagination. Are you reading the same news or just made those up? Tim Cook hasn’t been to China since 2018, after Canada detained that lady from Huwei. Is Tim Cook scared to be a pawn and got detained? I bet he does.
You are the one who's living in fantasy land it seems. Who's talking about Tim Cook?? You are either oblivious on purpose to what China did and still doing or you are just dumb.
What do you think? TSMC and ASML are sitting on their hands? They're already working on next gen. Russia has been trying to catch up to them for decades and is still very far, they only successfully got to 65nm if I recall correctly.
First off, this isn't something that is easy to reverse engineer. This isn't just software. Russia and China have been trying for many decades without success. China was buying top engineers from TSMC and everything.
