I like this post in that it ackowledges global warming may not be real. Global warming is not Science.
traderNik, the moral compass .... in your day-to-day, are you and have you often been refered to as a self-righteous prick? Let me ask, how is it predictable that I'd delete a post that I thought better of posting?
tradernik you fool. I have volunteered my attorney time to work for environmental causes related to bays and oceans. i have been in court attempting to clean up San Diego Bay as attorney of record for the plaintiffs. (volunteered my time). You can be in favor of a cleaner environment and not be a nutbag.
it is ironic that the person that patrols this board with the intention of rooting out bigotry is one of the most bigotted... The very idea that 0.04% of the atomosphere could have a significant heating trapping effect is mind-boggling. Maybe during the winters sitting in the attic and breathing would keep the house warm. Loud mouth politicians and dingbat celebrities can't speed up scientific discovery. Energy production is getting cleaner every day. Here is a fascinating glimpse into the future: http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/helium3_000630.html
As I understand it, many of the climatologists concede the point that CO2 makes up only a small fraction of the warming effect. They are focussing on CO2 because they believe that it is a trigger. I'm not saying that I agree with this, but I think the scenario goes like this... More CO2 ---> More water vapor ---> Slightly warmer polar temps ---> Melting ice caps ---> Less reflected light (more absorbed ---> rapidly increasing temps. Something like that? My question is, if they are concerned about water vapor, why don't they scream about how much steam comes from cars and factories?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming .....One of the most pronounced feedback effects relates to the evaporation of water. CO2 injected into the atmosphere causes a warming of the atmosphere and the earth's surface. The warming causes more water to be evaporated into the atmosphere. Since water vapor itself acts as a greenhouse gas, this causes still more warming; the warming causes more water vapor to be evaporated, and so forth until a new dynamic equilibrium concentration of water vapor is reached at a slight increase in humidity and with a much larger greenhouse effect than that due to CO2 alone.... Call me biased, I prefer to hear from the experts not predicting catastrophic doom... or from people who refer to humans as a virus or plague.
If it is so overwhelming, then why do some of the most acclaimed climatologists call it "bunk"? It's interesting that the same people who find this and other so called rock solid scientific conclusions such as evolution can look at a picture of what occurs during a partial birth abortion and be unable to find any evidence that anything untoward is going on. So much for their ability to spirit out relevant information. And could you tell us exactly who it is that is stopping you from using more hydrocarbons? The correct answer is "nobody". It is when you and your left wing friends attempt to use the force of law to stop others from using them that one can quite rationally refer to it as a "left wing, anti-capitalist" conspiracy.
Actually, more water vapor means more clouds, which prevent heating. The nights may be warmer, but clouds prevent the days from getting really hot in the first place. Scientists are battling over this one. Some have "computer models" that predict heating. Computer models also predicted 7 hurricane landfalls last year. Actual = ZERO. They can't even predict one year out! Point is, it is so complex that no one has a clue what effect CO2 has, if any. It is PC to consider it a fact that humans are creating the problem however. Everyone on the street "knows" this to be true. There exists approximately zero evidence showing this to be true, only a correlation between CO2 and rising temps. This means nothing as temps have been rising for a few hundred years, and were actually in retreat in the 40's through 70's, while CO2 was growing. Most people like to ignore that fact though. I say cut pollution for its own sake, and reforest where ever possible. Unfortunately, this doesn't create the urgency to do anything. BTW, its China you really have to worry about. They are going to pass the US in greenhouse emissions this year, three years ahead of schedule, and are creating coal plants like there is no tomorrow. With an econ still 10% that of the USA!
It was predictable that you conceived and executed a plan as juvenille as that. That is my only point. As I said, I saw that the Three Stooges were the first ones to reply here but I had the restraint to refrain from mentioning it. Only after I saw your toilet post did I point out the obvious. At any rate, you have apologized to me before for posting in an inappropriate manner, so I'll let this slide as well. Forgiveness is not only a Christian value. As far as you, jem... didn't we establish that you actually aren't an attorney? I thought that your semi-literacy, as evidenced by your frequent and rudimentary spelling errors, confirmed this? Please correct me if I am wrong.
