  1. dunno, sounded to me like worldco gave alot of people with no money a chance at trading. unfortunately, most of them went negative in their cap acct this past year cos of difficult market, was then asked to put up money.. couldn't, and then ran off like crybabies.

in any event, i'd be scared if i was a prop trader at any firm considering the markets and the fact that certain groups are attempting to rid of the specialist system.

  2. most traders used to trade NAS, and many still do. So what does the spec system have to do with it?

  3. According to the commercial I just saw, the above law firm would represent worldco traders, cause they "represent the people, not the powerful!"

  4. i believe most of the volume done at the bigger prop firms mentioned on this website are on the NYSE. Many trading strategies there are based on behavior of the tape, that the specialist provides..

  5. yah, and many trading strategies are based on Market Maker strategies, but most traders now trade on other strategies.

  8. as far as i know, there's only one firm that will provide open books about their financials. so according to someone, it should be the only one being considered.

  9. are you telling me that most nasdaq traders don't look at MM quote and activity anymore?

  10. i'm saying that there are all kinds of strategies going on now. of course many, maybe most, look at mm quote activity, but whether most primarily BASE THEIR TRADE DECISIONS on that activity now i doubt, but obviously I don't know most nas traders.
