World Wide Power Grids Could Be Knocked Out

Solar power, wind power, live in the country, a whole house propane back-up generator, 2000 gallons of propane, 5 APC 3000 battery back ups, have 2 wells, one acre garden, 5 years of seeds, one acre stocked pond, satellite TV & internet, 5 stocked freezers, 1000 sq ft of dry & canned goods and a dedicated fiber optic line being installed in the Spring. Do I need anything else?

  7. That is only 2 buried 1000 gallon tanks. The whole house uses 750 gallons a year so I figure this would last 4 years if we conserve.

  8. Chances of a direct hit from a GRB close enough to do serious damage are almost nil but a storm powerful enough to fry our power grids happened in 1859 and ice core samples show they're not that rare.

    Now you're talking. You still need some guns and amo to protect yourself and your propery just in case solutions take too long and people start getting hungry.
