I do not know what weapons will be used to fight WWIII, but I do know what weapons will be used to fight WWIV, sticks and stones" - Albert Einstein
A friend of mine died a yr ago. Major ***** ********, USMC, Ret. He saw action on Iwo Jima, at the tender age of 19 btw, and in Korea. I once asked him about WW III, and his reply was " Oh yea, it's gonna happen. Too many unused toys laying around. Some idiot's gonna punch a few buttons sooner or later." He added that there'd be some conflagration between China, Russia and/or the US, just because those 3 are the - his words- "biggest boys on the block." He was the smartest, kindest, and most gentle man I've ever known. A true poet warrior. I wish I could tell you his name. He was a native Texan, named after one of the heroes of the Alamo. He's got a good job now, guarding the streets of Heaven. Ooh Rah!
That is called the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, abbreviated ARRA (Pub.L. 111-5) and commonly referred to as the Stimulus or The Recovery Act, which apparently everyone hated. So judging by the OP, WWIII is preferable to government stimulus spending on infrastructure and technology.
People who get unemployment checks are looking for work you must report in every few weeks...So it's not really totally free! The GOVERNMENT likes throwing Money at problems not fixing them! Now we could live in a Communist Country then the Government will tell you what and where to work do you want that?
Who is going to fight who in WW3? I don't see any good enemies forming yet. China, Russia and the US will play a part by definition of size; it won't be a real "world war" unless we are all in it. China has enough people and land and natural resources already that they don't need any more, and they are doing just fine in the world economy. The Russians seem to be quite content stretching their free market wings after a few generations of communism. I worry that my beloved US will end up the aggressor. The time is becoming right for some ambitious politician to ascend to national prominence on a platform of jingoistic pride, rallying the people to retake our place in domination of the world by any means necessary and cast off the restraints of foreign debt ownership. And the rest of the world won't have any of that nonsense and decide to give us a good decisive slap down.
Agreed. I think the Stimulus was the right idea. I don't like the idea of government overspending, and deficit spending...but I see it as a necessary evil.
What started the War with Japan back in 1940? It was about Trade The U.S did not want any Japanese goods and Japan got mad. This could easy happen again

What do we have to back up the U.S Dollar? Nothing but trillions in Debt. What will happen if Japan calls to cash in all U.S bonds? ($615 Billion) worth? We don't have it Sorry, will you take a rain check? how about some land in coastal Louisiana?
