  2. Unless it's documented trades who cares. It's just the usual PR machine in action...

    Yes, he is up nicely.

I do an all in all out exit on my trades and am up quite a bit more than his stats. He is exiting 1 lot at a target and lets the other one ride.

Over the past 6 months, there has been quite a lot of improvement to qualifying the entries and exits and to keeping stats.

Yes, it works on the ER. Like every other trading strategy, you must take almost all of the trades or else you will inevitably miss some big ones.

  4. Can you post a link to the trade log? :) I was in woodies room for awhile. I learned quite a bit about how he calls his trades a few years back and it wasn't useful...

  6. Woodie does actually make money. I have seen him trading live.

But I agree with those who say that it's not because of CCI, more because of his experience. If you study something long enough you finally begin to know it like yourself be it CCI, pure price or whatever...

  7. my point is, can this be quantified in an absolute way. There's a considerable amount of fudging in the exits, imo.

Tradelog is one thing, can it be backtested?

I followed Woodie for over 2 years daytrading in his room. That is where I learned the ropes. It was an excellent education. I am
not there all day anymore because my eyes were getting pretty bad from staring at the screen. I am end of day now and still use
Woodies setups for decisions on my trades.
Woodie is an old timer. he not only Knows his tool but he just knows trading, and that is the key. There is no magical indicator.
The magic is being able to see and feel what the market "might do" and take trades according to the high probable circumstances. I can't see how anyone can talk about Woodie
and his trading style when I saw him call trades every day for years in and out very successfully, and then donate the funds to charity. I now feel comfortable trading "5 years"and feel that end of day is much easier than daytrading. I had a problem with blink of an
eye decisions. Now I can scan for 1 setup every day and study
the setup to make the decision, and go about my business.

  9. Well thats nice, but 99% of what he does is blink of an eye daytrading, not long term.

  10. Don,

The problem is "woodies" calls on the site were not timely when I was there -- and the exits were even less so as someone else pointed out.

It's been year's but I have backtested his approach and the results never tied out with his claims in any way. I won't rehash the rest of the issues as they're not really relevant to the post. I'm certainly not going to go through the room logs and check timestamps against trades...

Having said that, I think it's important to warn any "newbies" who might read this thread and think they are on to something with "woodie's" system. I'm not even suggesting they don't go and take a look -- as learning about snake oil is an important aspect of this business.

I do look forward to the day woodie let's his calls/trades be audited by an outside firm.

    Good trading,

    Sam
