%% That sounds right; + much more of a % of investors make money , counting stocks ,real estate, pension plans..........But trading can be more fun/action packed ;so that explains a lot.
Keep that job! Do the boring stuff at work. Girls do like to talk! That won't change. However, if you walk away from your careee, it may not be there in five years. You may need that source of income.
Women and the word balance never go together in any context. MGTOW if you want balance. Women if you want entertainment.
Pursue your passion. -- I know it sounds like cliche, dry advice...but it's true. Pursue your passion, but with a certain level of rationalness and realness. Don't have your head in the clouds in Disneyland. You don't want to look back in life seeing the chances you never took, for better or worse. By the way, you say you're serious...but your username is SillyWilly and you talk about getting laid. You kind of remind me of Edward Norton in Fight Club. You don't necessarily want to be that...an ideal trader should be Neo in The Matrix,...that's a man with vision, and calmness and wiseness.
My understanding, gleaned from a wide variety of sources, is that the DB11 is (a) probably the best Aston ever made, and (b) probably also going to turn out to be the least unreliable, its mechanical components being made mostly from Mercedes parts. It was only two or three years ago that Clarkson mentioned (of an earlier Aston) on Top Gear that "it's an Aston Martin, so it's going to spend as much time in the garage being repaired as it is on the road"! (The DB11 is a four-seater, though: different size and "feel" of car altogether from McLarens, and a lot heavier, I'm guessing?)
All Brits are incredibly patriotic...just last week...I googled 'why do the British like tea so much' while sipping on hot tea. The British consume the most tea per person/year...that country averages 4 cups of tea/per day...for every one of its citizens. They all like Aston Martin, and Jaguar and McLaren and Bentley and Rolls Royce. Like it's their civic duty to do so. and of course The Queen...they all praise her more than God. and football/soccer, it's a birthright to play it. and supporting Formula 1 Grand Prix British drivers and the Mercedes racing team.
She is working through a Vanquish at this point, with an eye on the DB11. I do love the lines and the way the rear wheel is so far back on the frame. We will likely attend F1 at COTA in Austin TX in the Fall and Red Bull now has Aston Martin as a sponsor so they always bring a bunch of demos. Maybe we'll get to take it out when we're in town. I hate to ever own one of these things outside of warranty and the key is to not drive it enough to have it break. I know that sounds stupid, but it works out. Ferraris don't "break" but since they are handmade there are always many little things going awry and I think there's an element of that with Aston as well.
The db9 is actually a very good car. They are a little douchey to drive around in but it can be a daily driver. They depreciate a lot so you can get one for like 60k (with the v12 engine)
You don't really have a problem right now. You're just comparing your current life status to that of your friends and so you're questioning your path because you don't want to screw your life up. There's nothing wrong with that. If you are going to make something of your life that's above and beyond the average friend you run across, you must do what the others aren't doing. Forget all that "finding balance" stuff. At this stage in your life, you must go the extra mile and do all things that are required to be a great success. But doing that will undoubtedly make you feel alienated because very few other people you know will have the drive and the desire to be successful like yourself. One thing I can guarantee that will be a constant in your life.... no matter what career you choose.... is problems. You can tell if you're on the right career path when you are motivated and willing to solve the problems that go hand-in-hand with that particular job. For example, I used to work in residential construction. Some days were ok but lots of them just sucked because I hated things like digging footers, carrying buckets of mixed concrete, sweating profusely in the hot summer sun, etc. In other words, the problems that were associated with that career just weren't things I embraced and enjoyed, so I quit and moved on. However, creating and running this website has it's own set of problems but I actually enjoy the challenges and look forward to tackling more problems as they arise. It sounds like you're on the right track because you seem really motivated to deep dive into the nitty gritty details of trading and system development at the expense of not being around family and friends all the time, which is good. And since you don't have any problem getting girls, if you need to take a short break every so often to hook up and blow off some steam, then that opportunity is always available to you. The thing to understand though, is that getting a girl is a vastly different task than keeping one. At some point, you'll probably want some stability in your life in the form of a life partner. Someone earlier used the analogy of a flower which is great. It essentially boils down to this: When you find a flower you love, you water it every day. In other words, when you find a woman you love, you must make the master trade that is literally as old as humanity, which is that you as a man must exchange your resources (money) for a woman's beauty. A beautiful woman is like a pretty flower in the sense that you get to enjoy her beauty and companionship by providing everything that is needed to take care of her. There's a lot that goes into this but I'll stop it here for the time being and just bring this back around full circle. So, one of the primary reasons that you want to bust your ass now and become successful is so that you will have the money and resources required to keep the woman that you ultimately want to be with whenever that day comes. Because one thing is for certain..... If you are broke, it will be impossible to keep the woman you desire over the long term, no matter how good looking you are. Now I don't mean to imply that there's no such thing as balance in life. It's just that balance doesn't have to occur on a daily basis every single day. If you bust your ass now and do what none of your friends are willing to do, everything will get balanced out later in life when you reap the benefits from the finances and freedom you've earned because of your disciplined early years. Good luck!
