Safra Catz - Born and raised in Israel. As for the banking crisis AFAIK none were CEO'd by an Israeli Jew. But we should now consider Wall Street banks as innovative too?
The problem when discussing minorities in America is we all can fit in the straightjacket. What we usually mean by "whites" is people in power, from the top to the middle class. It's as reductionist as any other label and a source of intense resentment from the MAGA segment of our population. In Europe it would be strange to equate a Norwegian to an Italian and despite much discrimination upon setting feet upon US shores, these two and the Poles and the Irish and the Germans and the Brits and the French.. are here conflated as bonded Whites with common interests, as if we never butchered each other for centuries before leaving the old continent. Because America has always refused to segment its population by class to refute Marxist socioeconomic theory, White became a dominant population segment most European would readily identify with, particularly because the dominant political, economic, judicial and military powers were white, as opposed to Asian or Black or brown. And thanks to them, we called ourselves Whites. This segregation by skin color is so insidious that even brown people were given the label of Latino (wtf?!?) in 1976, to encompass not people by their ethnic or cultural origins, but simply by their skin color, so that Spaniards are White, all Euro ancestries in Central and South Americans are White, all Africa ancestries in Central and South America are Black and just about anyone else is Latino.
There used to be an old adage that if a company or organization built a lavish new headquarters it was a sign that its best days were over. This was not because having a fancy headquarters is a bad thing; it was more about what it said about the senior management. A company in an exciting growth phase doesn't have time to think about such things. I think its the same with wokeness. Wokeness could even be a useful indicator.
Sigh, what a waste of time. @newwurldmn said 2008 crisis was created by bankers who were "white men", I pointed out that many of the heads of the biggest failing banks were Jewish. It has nothing to do with innovation. So as I understand if Dick Fuld runs Lehmann Brothers to the ground or Alan Schwartz does the same to Bear Stearns, they are "white men". But if Safra Catz runs Oracle it's great. So you're applying the "white" label selectively, as it suits your agenda. And I guess Elon Musk is also underprivileged, he didn't grow up in US, Thiel wasn't born in US either. All minorities.
Completely random and irrelevant. But keep pushing those emotional arguments, since objectively you're standing on nothing.
