Hello MarkBrown, This is the BEST post on ET in 2023!!!!!, probably since 1997 when the website was just created. This is really a simple and robust post of a Real Trader is. I know I will make money everyday/week/month/year.
So there are many posts of information for example about people wanting to sell their strategy, and there are many reasons to do it which no one here would ever take in to account, some people are good at building but not good at maintaining, some need the capital to do other things, some can't leverage what they have due to lack of connections, others use the process to gain 'market insight', however most of the time, assuming it works, the 'product' is worth 100x less to a third party, they discount the effort it took to create it. Which means the only real value is running a private fund or family office, never discount that there are people with something of value that are willing for others to use it, sure it's rare but it exists however most people would never be able to use it correctly and then blame the system, not themselves, a wise trader and investor knows when a dynamic has changed in advance of the masses who fuel the markets, basically with their losses, and either gets out of the way or even better, trades in to it. Is this such a time, maybe, maybe not, for most only a rear view mirror will give that knowledge, but you might want to go light the rest of the year, you'll understand next year, as for us we've seen that trading investor capital now creates a negative return on investment unless you can limit investor interaction to zero, such as ETFs, Crypto Tokens, the entire rat-race is now unwinding and interacting with these people will see you lose your soul going forward, and very simply better you than me

That is hardly, hardly, true. Here's an example... "5. **Adaptability:** Markets can change rapidly, and a wise trader can adapt to different market conditions. They are not overly attached to a single strategy and can adjust their approach as needed." The underlined above is a non-sequitur. Being able to adapt to different market conditions doesn't mean you are wise, but rather that you are nimble. It is a clear-cut example of why AI chat has a long way to go beyond just filling in blanks.

Indeed, profitability is a tangible measure of success in trading, but there's more to wisdom than just financial gains.
