The quoted article referred to two programs that should be high on the republican hit list for defunding, VISTA and Americorps. Both are alarming Chavez-Hitler youth type operations designed to create a cadre of ignorant young thugs in waiting that some demagogue could use to attack his opposition. I know, it's "for the children" and therefore untouchable.

I've been thinking about this "white privilege" notion, but I don't see it. Successful black people have something in common with successful whites... THEY DID SOMETHING! Went to school, did their homework, learned to communicate, worked hard and intelligently.... started a business or made themselves valuable to an employer. If you drop out of school and do nothing... white or black... you end up in about the same place. Same if you "do the work". It's actually the minorities who are "privileged"... with lower standards for EVERYTHING thanks to Affirmative Action.... and "government benefits pandering for their vote". Everybody on the government tit has been given too much... and we're the worse for it. Whites are righteous in their complaints about that.
