From what I gather, If you want wireless broadband internet without having to go to a hotspot:

    1) You need an iPhone, Blackberry or something similar

    2) It costs minimum $60/mo, including the necessary 2-year contract.

As far as #1 is concerned, is there anything with a larger screen than an iPhone you can use, without having to resort to a laptop?

In regards to #2, does anyone know of a cheaper route? The best deal I can find is $40/mo for phone service, which apparantly is a prerequsite, and another $20/mo for internet.

  2. I use a PPC-6700 on a Sprint contract at $55 a month with unlimited data and 300 minutes, as I use another cell for voice calls. I just bought an iPhone as the browsing is superior, but EDGE data is not 3G. I would go with an iPhone or the new PPC device.
