Keep in mind that Florida does not count non-residents in its COVID statistics. So these snowbirds don't count unless they stay 6 months or longer.

Bring us your tired (of lockdowns), your poor (from being unemployed - from lockdowns), your huddled, masked masses yearning to breathe free.

You aren't understanding the trading opportunities that existed off those calls. There was a 2-3 week window where plenty of money could be made buying around those levels. At the time, shorting the SPX was the most popular idea on this site. If you want to talk bigger gains, the mining and energy plays I took on involved several realized triples and numerous doubles. Nobody on here was interested in Cdn miners or energy but it was one of the best areas to trade even better then US IT for 2-3 months ( mostly mid caps ).

  4. I am so relieved. Florida has a large international audience and when Springtime comes, a large number will return to their Summer homes after “Breathing free” during their stay. Nothing like muted statistics understating risks of infection. Can anyone say “Third wave”? Or will it be the forth wave of reinfection?

It seems to me, we will realize near the maximum theoretical economic and human damage this virus is capable of through weak policy and seeming lack personal sense of responsibility of some towards one’s own community.

Our divided society is in trouble and at the rate we are going, a severe systemic failure is inevitable. Disregard of others as shown by riots, refusal to recognize scientific inputs into decision making, and willingness to overturn Constitutionally based principles suggests to me this systemic failure is going to happen sooner rather than later. Along with systemic collapse, many lives will be lost with most of the survivors having their lives upended.

Apoptosis is associated with the self programmed death of a damaged cell. What should we call it when the population of a damaged society impodes? Ignorance? Stupidity? Self indulgence?

Alright well, I must have missed when you shared those opportunities. I realize trades go like that, vs a buy and hold strategy.

Now, your Yamana Gold, they beat on eps, but they missed revenues by 11MM. Doesn't sound like much but thats about 2.5% on 450MM forecast.

There's no action on it after hours, but a quick glance at their 6K... you might want to consider closing your position. Those YOY production comps look pretty anemic to me fwiw. It may not crash, but its not going much higher either. Here:

To their credit they do seem to keep their fiscal house in order. That's always a plus.

My original position I bought at $3.95 sold at $8.64 in August. I bought some two days ago at $7.09. I have other miners I prefer to trade in and out of.

Whew doggy, Governor Noem... I think the good people of South Dakota deserve to know where the Governor expected Covid to be and where she expects the spread is going.

I forget whether it’s north or South Dakota but one of them has the highest Covid related death rate in the world.

    Hey Ken,

Aliens could be hovering their over-size spaceships over our cities and there will be people looking at it and then denying what they are looking at...others will grab their belongings / kids and get the hell out of town and others will go to the rooftops of buildings to take pictures.

I agree, I expect a ton more people will die. Too bad it can't be all the deniers.

North Dakota has more Covid-19 deaths in comparison to South Dakota but South Dakota has more Covid-19 infections. Both know the hospitalizations soon follow the infections and then the deaths soon follow the hospitalizations especially when hospitals are at capacity (care isn't as good).

Also, North Dakota has a shortage of hospital beds...several large hospitals only had one bed remaining that's open for another patient.

Not sure how these hospitals had the entire summer to prepare for the 2nd wave and now are almost without beds for patients and its only the start.

    Pathetic

P.S. I have close relatives in South Dakota, North Dakota and the governor of South Dakota is still downplaying it while some of the hospitals / ICUs have reached capacity.
