Thanks, I see the free trial. I just wanted to check first on comments like jamming or slowing the machine before I take it for a spin.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe Microsoft made the decision to get out of the Anti-Virus etc., business and are not going to be offering Live One Care anymore. http://community.winsupersite.com/b...l-deliver-free-security-offering-instead.aspx
Microsoft will be offering free anti-virus software by the second half of this year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morro_(software)
I use Windows LiveCare and these (all free): http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/ Windows Defender Malicious Software Removal Tool Also, consider purchasing a router (which should include a firewall) for installing between your PC and "The Bad Guys" [your PC and the Web] (probably your best protection). I've never had an "issue/problem/virus" since incorporating the above. Your risks go up if you have other users on your PC and/or do a lot of copying/downloading from flash/floppy/PeertoPeer/thumb drives/websites.
