"The software platform will remain virtually identical" EXCEPT FOR 1. No Baskets 2. No Futures Trading 3. No Black Box Traders WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TRYING TO KID!!!! Virtually Identical my *&^
so the more i think about it, looks like the best thing to do will be to keep my ira account at schwab, what with limited software but no platform fee. That account generates a whole $50.00 a month or so in fees. but my active account that fees at least $100.00 a day, (about 25k a year), will surey need to be moved. Whats wrong with this picture. does virtually identical really means 6 charts, limited ecn access, no futures data, no breakaway alerts or order status windows, no short available view status, no alert time out, higher margin required, blah blah blah. Honestly cybertrader rep, you cannot expect that any active trader will risk their income and future to remain at schwab under these dubious circumstances. I think that schwab must have determined that active trading is a loosing business because the smart guys just couldn't be this.... well ... this dumb. Kind of reminds me of new coke.
You guys left out the new & improved "extended hours" policy....say goodbye to 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 pm (est) Pre-Market and After Hours Trading Pre-Market Trading: Orders can only be placed between 8:05 p.m. (previous trading day) and 9:15 a.m. EST and will only be eligible for execution between 8:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. EST After Hours: Orders can only be placed between 4:05 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. EST and will only be executed between 4:15 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. EST http://www.schwab.com/public/schwab...P-981840&lvl1=investment_products&lvl2=stocks
I have been with Cybertrader for many years. The biggest dissapointment is the way in which they have "announced" the switch with "details" to follow. You need to do the reverse: finalize the details and then announce the change. Now we are left wondering all of the exact details. I have e mailed Cybertrader on the Live Help screen asking for clarification, but the only response I have received is that the details will come later. I have opened a new account at IB, but will keep my Cybertrader account for a short time longer to see if they can straighten out this mess.
Most the traders I know on Cyber are just waiting to jump ship. Everyone is out looking for a new platform to suit their needs. They have definitely left the active trader high and dry. By the way, where is that WEAK *** CYBERTRADER REP!!! Come on back and defend your software and the fact that you are lying about the two platforms being identical.

The differences between the platforms and pricing are well known to CyberTrader and Schwab management. The reason we've announced this half a year in advance is to give us time to resolve these issues BEFORE we make anyone move. We are doing everything possible to ensure that our clients will not lose functionality once the integration is complete. We hope to make SSPRO as similar to CyberPro as possible. You should receive more information in the coming months. Our sincere hope is that this integration provides our clients with an even better trading experience.
Hello Bullet, CyberRep at your service. There is apparently some confusion here, and I'd like to clear it up and/or simply be a source of information. We do not claim that the two platforms are currently the same. It is our goal to make SSPRO as close to or better than CyberPro by the end of the year. At that time only will a move be mandated. Reliability and pricing will be unaffected. The platform may actually get better. I hope this helps with some of the concerns here. If you or anyone else have specific questions feel free to contact us at our main number. 1 888 76 CYBER
Cybertrader rep: here is a specific question to answer--What are the pre and post market trading hours and through which ECN?
I am impressed you responded. Most firms just ignore the frustrated traders. However, can you confirm that what I have heard (NO baskets, NO futures trading, and NO Black Box Trading) is in fact ACCURATE?!?!.. That being said, feel free to assure this community of active traders that when Schwab engulfs Cyber that schwab will offer the above features that many of us have been told will not (in any way what so ever) be available at all. I understand you probably do not have the authority to make such guarantees....but that is the point. As traders we are yanked around by Broker Dealers that don't want to lose trader volume or funds and by Clearing firms that believe (maybe rightly so) they are one cloud away from the almighty. A more welcome response would be for a firm to say what they are going to offer. Some of us have worked in this business for quite some time, and we are well aware that firms know damn well what the future for there company (as far as software and fees) is.......There obvious concern is whether or not it benefits their self interests to string the traders along or cut 'em loose. I love trading, but my view on BD's and clearing firms is from many years of experience with them. And yes I know...Business is Business.
