Smacky, How are you able to collect interest and still have full DTBP? Do you get the average price for a position displayed if you entered it using an ECN? BTW, why do they never show shorting available for the OIH?
Rich, you mention notice of an upgrade to SSPro but the "Update Available..." option under the Help menu doesn't indicate one is available. What version # of SSPro are you using?
I didn't bother to see if "Update Available" was highlighted because I received a notice when I went to log off. I am using 4.16, the platform down loaded to CT crossovers. I have no idea what was upgraded, but for sure it wasn't anything I was hoping for.
I'm looking at Cobra IQ. It seems to be the closest to CT Pro, though still not as good. For instance, I've found Pro's charting tabs to be immensely useful -- I like to be able to instantly switch between 30 min, 60 min, 90 min, 6 hrs, and 2 day views (with some of those showing after-hour stuff, and others not). IQ has no comparable feature. And, I haven't seen alerts on any other platform anywhere that are the equal of CT Pro's (SS Pro, in typical fashion, removes some of that alert functionality -- for instance, it allows a max of 2 conditions).
umm, yeah, it is greyed out in the selection feild.. i did theirlive help thing and gota link to the wrong place.. called em and got a new link. it is updated.. the newist is 4.16
So it turns out the DTBP they display on the account bar is meaningless. You can exceed it with impunity, provided you stay below the true BP which gives you credit for 4 times all cash balances, including MM sweeps. A rep could not explain to me why they excluded the MM balances when calculating the BP figure they display in the Account bar.
I have attached a screenshot of a session I had on Live Help with Schwab. Three Reps all seemingly clueless. This is rather shameful.
I can't stop laughing. Not at you, but at the silliness of this entire thing. Rest assured you're not alone. I'm afraid if I took screenshots of all the frustrating/bizarre/waste-of-time conversations I've had over past couple of weeks, I'd run out of hard drive. And the support response times are often much slower than they once were, probably because so many of us are simultaneously pulling our hair out trying to trade with a system that seems to take perverse delight in spitting out bogus/confusing messages (or, in some cases, simply not sending a relevant message). I guess if we're going to try trading this system, we're going to need a powerful sense of humor and a ready bottle of Jim Beam Thanks for your post since it makes me feel slightly less alone in Wonderland.
