Will you pay 27 bucks to go see Jim Cramer speak on Weds?

  1. He ought to auction off a lunch and see what he could get, just like Buffett.

If they had a Q&A session at the lecture it would be worth it to come up with a question and see if you could watch him pop a blood vessel or at least a good healthy rant.

I'd guess it would be pretty hard to rattle the guy, he's heard it all.

i can find plenty of people who are down 30-40%+ over the last year and down over the last 6 years, like his action alerts portfolio is; why would i want to pay for this *cough* privilege?

    Stop beating up Cramer!

I like him for what he is good for -- getting people excited about the markets and encouraging them to do their own homework.

Do most people do that? Of course not. Most people are smarter than him, lazier than him [certainly more lazy than anyone here], and generally so narcissistic that they still believe it is the other guy's problem until the loose 60% of the portfolio's value -- which makes them complete idiots.

Never confuse people's ability to compete/execute with DESIRE to compete/execute. If there is enough desire, then a person will implement the discipline necessary to succeed -- or at least fail valiantly. Too many people want someone else to do it for them. We have a tendency to be way to cynical with respect to what Joe Public can handle -- that is rarely the issue. Joe Public is just lazy or self-absorbed if not both.

Take it however you like, but the guy tells you up front to read his books, do your own research, and re-evaluate his recommendations yourself.

Still, he is GREAT entertainment ! Actual advice -- that is another story.

  6. Oh I love that comment. Did you notice how they've "dolled her up" recently with a makeover to lose that country-girl look ?
    I'll take her either way.
