Hey guys, I started with $0 down 2 years ago, and have made near a million in the markets.... what's the return there, for you math wizards?
whew, "correcitons"? Sounds French...I assume it was "corrections" you meant. 1. That's great! Much easier to deal with losing it all! 2. I guess misleading others into THINKING you're a good trader is also good business. (see bullet #3) 3. That's good, marketing, marketing, marketing....spoken like a true snake-oil salesman. 4. Screech's personality got him into hundreds of Saved By The Bell episodes. Good on ya! 5. See vote on this poll titled "Hell No..." 6. Yeah I wouldn't show my performance data publicly if I were you either! Referring to your good marketing skills. That would be a big NO NO. 7. See bullet #5. 8. Thanks, we noticed the attempt at the cover up.
I just downloaded the entire season I of WSW the other week and I have to say: Maybe you're right. Maybe Tim (and the others in the series) are just what the series makes us think they are. I personally always look for two sides of a story. Let's imagine we're the producers of WSW. We shoot boatloads of footage of let's say 10 characters. We as the producers have our beliefs what characters will be able to connect with our audience. We run episode #1. We get emails about Tim and the blonde chick. However, we find out that nobody cares about Parker Quillen or Guy De Chimay or the Russian guy BBQing with his family or other down to earth professionals. The audience needs drama. When we're the audience we love to watch characters that are so far out from our perceived norm that we can barely believe it. You should have heard my GF (that couldn't care less about the markets) get both annoyed and suddenly magically interested in the series when she saw Sandra driving around in a limo through NY with her Gucci bags and mentioning here "There's only one bottom line that counts on Wall Street" Bla Bla. Producers of reality shows love stereotypes, because they appeal to people that know nothing about the industry other than prejudices. Stereotypes confirming common prejudices get ratings. Ratings = $$$. My take is that's why they ended up editing both Tim and Sandra into basically all other episodes. They got ratings. That's all. I wouldn't blame the two of them, I'd blame the audience for being shallow enough to be more interested in them than in the lifes and work of the senior professionals featured in the show. I find it pretty reasonable to think that both Sandra and Tim knew exactly what they were getting themselves into and played their parts professionally. There is no telling how "they are in real life". For all I know they are just good actors with their own agenda (=self-marketing). Sidenote: I see Tim taking a lot of heat from our ET folks here, including totally unwarranted insults. Criticism is one thing, spewing insults is another. This is the stuff you get from keyboard warriors. The type of stuff keyboard warriors dare to write hiding behind their screens, but would probably never say into people's faces. On the other hand, Tim is here promoting his book answering even the most ridiculous posts without insulting people. Doesn't mean he's a nice guy, he just knows what to do in order to stir up interest in his product. Call it what you want, I call it smart marketing at no cost. Reminds me of the Blair Witch Project marketing a bit. My bottom line: this guy is probably smarter than many of the "Elite Traders" insulting him.
So what accounted for you hardly making any gains 2 years ago and then your recent spate of losses for the last 2 years? Clearly your trading isn't transmutable and you were lucky. Are you going to deny being a good trader or say you are this time? I can't keep up with your flip flopping.
Are you joking? You're actually trying to say that Tim only came across like that because he was acting? What are you smoking? You should pass it because you've had too much. Not many have raised funds before by acting like immature fools or making rude comments to their mothers on tv as ploys to get funds. Do you have any examples? The Blair Witch Project was a movie. This kid is trying to raise real money...your comparison is dumb as a movie can shock and scare and get better ratings and therefore garner more money. There is no "reputation" to uphold for an independent film. Stupid comparison. You wouldn't show up to a fundraising meeting in a t-shirt and talking about how a "chart rocks!" expecting to raise funds. It's the same way you wouldn't think that acting like an immature idiot and showing your unprofessional trading skills on tv would be selling points. Or apparently you would mak. Intelligent people simply don't "market" themselves as total schmucks for the sake of selling their product because they would be undermining their end goal which, in the case of finance, is one of maturity and competence. It would be like trying to sell a car by showing how crappy the quality of certain components are. Gotta ask, are you related to stock_turder?!
I've never flip flopped, its just not as simple as you'd like it to be, added to the fact that I'm restricted in what I can and cannot say--of course I'm gonna sound like a douche. With that said, if you put all the pieces together from various posts on this thread, its not very difficult to figure out why I can have a 35% drawdown and still say my trading is fine.
Why do you keep explaining yourself to somebody who's not interested in your replies but rather enjoys bathing in the blood you shed taking those losses? There are sick people out there, no need to feed their hungry mouths. Remember: Nobody here on ET ever has drawdowns. Ever. Every day is an up day here!
When you say that you've never said you're a great trader and then you say that you're a great trader repeatedly(especially with the rhetorical bullshit about the pre-tax audited blah blah blah), it makes you a flip flopper. Give it a rest already putz.
I have draw downs. What's your point? You couldn't retort my post so you just ignore me? Your logic was totally fallible and dumb mak. Denial runs deep in your blood huh?! Are you related to stock_turder?
