  4. Come on man, give me some credit. I've got all these newbies contacting me wanting to learn about trading and hedge funds--I'm not gonna feed them some BS. I aim to show them this industry is full of opportunity and will continue to be, but they also have to be careful and diligent at all times. This review says it best:

"The most realistic portrayal of the risks, rewards, joys, frustrations, exhilarations and the depths of a trader's life since Reminiscences of a Stock Operator."

  5. How would Mr. \"Howe, Faulkner and me\" know if it was realistic? Did he also run a hedge fund?

  6. Who knows and who cares. I bet he's a trader though. I didn't write this specifically for industry insiders like most of these incredibly boring finance books--this is for everybody.

  7. I think it affects the validity of the statement whether or not he ran a fund...

I mean if someone wrote a book about going to the moon...who am I to read it and say whether or not it is realistic....seeing as how I have never been to the moon..so how the hell do I know?

  8. He said my book is the most realistic portrait of TRADER'S LIFE, not a hedge fund manager's life and his website says he worked on Wall Street for 12 years, he knows what he's talking about.

  9. nah, i still like "trend following" as a book. its a good read.

the issue with covel was, at the time, i didn't want him to use my name in marketing his products--nothing to do with the book itself.

    as a note of clarification:

this situation played itself out and i appreciate him quoting me and am thankful for being included in his books. good stuff has come from it. doesn't mean i like the strategy called 'trend following" however!
