exactly my experience during last months. my horizon has widened dramtically. but most recently i felt like i am heading back to the feet of my guru so to speak. in the end ... many new shapes but nothing genuinly new under the sun ...
I saw this book in the bookstore the other day and it definately looks good. I plan on picking it up.
This one is not out yet, but I will almost certainly buy it: http://www.synctrading.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=256#256 There are actually some really decent books coming out on trading that are not for the super sophisticated. nitro
Can we start posting covers so we don't have to click the links? Makes the thread more interesting. Example: I just bought these books: and
The problem with book covers is that they take up lots of bandwidth and disk space. I wonder if what the dog whisperer says actually works, and is healthy for the dog. These people that want to turn their dog into a machine that doesn't annoy them are a little scarry to me. I went to training class with my dog and I thought it was really intense. For example, they wanted the dog not to walk in front of me or behind me and to be at a certain distance always. I gave up after feeling it was too hard on my pooch (and me. I have a JRT, and they said that it was especially critical that I train my dog). On the other hand, I can't let my dog off the leash because he does what he wants, and the odds of that being what I want are almost zero (squirrels, other dogs, and every blade of grass in exsistance take precendence). I envy people that go for a walk, can take a dog off their leash and the dog does the right thing from your perspective. nitro
More books on trading worth reading! http://www.synctrading.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=259#259 This book will almost certainly be a Market Wizards (MW) type book and will probably have two more versions the way the MW books did. I highly recommend it. nitro
Picked these up this w/e: Inside the Investor's Brain: The Power of Mind Over Money (Wiley Trading) (Hardcover) by Richard L. Peterson (Author) http://www.amazon.com/Inside-Invest...6311643?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1188922783&sr=8-1 and Competition: The Birth of a New Science (Hardcover) by James Case (Author) http://www.amazon.com/Competition-B...6311643?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1188922915&sr=1-1 The Peterson book looked really interesting. I will probably read it first. The Case book is stuff I already know inside out, but it still makes for interesting reading. nitro
I went into a used bookstore and found this book: http://www.amazon.com/Descartes-Error-Emotion-Reason-Human/dp/0380726475 I can't believe this book escaped me. I may have to put it at the front of the list. Damasio also wrote this: http://www.amazon.com/Looking-Spino...028719/ref=sip_rech_dp_10/105-4384131-6311643 nitro
