CME makes a bid for the CBOT. ICE surprises the world back in March with their surprise counter offer for the CBOT. CME goes on every financial show for months saying that they will never raise their bid. Then, a few weeks ago, they do just that. ICE strikes back by settling the exercise right issue with the CBOE once and for all. CME counter-punches by finally getting DOJ approval, something that many observers never thought would happen. Now ICE raises their bid again. Will this punch/counter-punch ever end? Do we have to wait until July 9th for the shareholder vote or will one of these two finally accept defeat and spare us any more of this CBOT madness?
