right off the bat, I can see qualified "preferred color" individuals not wanting to attend racist AF school and looking forward to a diverse community. What with the modern world looking down on discrimination and all....
are you being obtuse on purpose... you asked why is the university fighting this... I said because a group filed a lawsuit the SC is taking a case to make a political statement, where have you been the past 20 years...there is no merit in the case though because the plaintiff cannot prove a person was rejected because of their race, especially when race is like one of 15-20 qualifying factors. Asian representation in Harvard is like double their % in the general population and they feel they are being discriminated against? Please 3% of people get into Harvard...all races are rejected. Also your previous argument about housing shows an ignorance of the topic. Anyone who can afford to pay the rent has a right to live in the apartment, that is what Equal Housing is about. You cannot exclude someone from a job or housing based on race. Universities are not exlcuding people based on race so try and be intelligent about this. They are using it possibly as one of amny factors in evaluating incoming students for a diverse student body. A minority student with a 1100 SAT and 2.1 GPA and no special talent is not getting into Harvard. Anyone who can afford the tuition or who has a 1600 SAT does not have a RIGHT to get into Harvard. Harvard does not admit students based on SAT. Doesnt matter if you have a 1550 and 4.3 GPA, that is not exclusive criteria. See how that works?
