Will Pakistan start the next nuclear war?

  1. The market seems to be totally indifferent to the war threat.

Quite possibly it is being propped up until further news develops. I don't see any market going up under the shadow of war.

  3. The Pakistani Defence minister says they are ready to call it quits.
"We have been saying all along in the last fortnight that we’ll never initiate anything hostile towards India. But if we're attacked, we'll respond. If India backs down, we will definitely wrap up this tension," he said.

  4. Despite what the Pak defense minister said yesterday, it appears that nothing is over and war is still very much on the table.

Day after Op Sindoor, Pak again resorts to unprovoked firing across LoC

The incident came a day after the Indian armed forces launched precision airstrikes early on Wednesday as part of Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the terror attack in Pahalgam. The operation focused on nine specific sites linked to the planning and coordination of cross-border attacks on Indian soil.
    Intense shelling along the LoC
On Wednesday, the Pakistani Army carried out one of the heaviest artillery and mortar shelling attacks in recent years, targeting forward villages along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir, reports news agency PTI. The intense shelling left at least 13 people dead and 57 others injured.

Looking for entry point to buy puts again.

Yes. Now it looks like a full fledged war. You are right. Shorts are working well now. Most of the world is green. Indian markets are down and Pakistan Stock exchange is closed to arrest the fall.

  7. Get ready for a prolonged war

JD Vance says US will not intervene in India-Pak dispute: 'None of our business'

US Vice President JD Vance on Thursday said that the United States will not directly intervene in the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan, emphasising that it is "none of America's business."

In an interview with Fox News, JD Vance said, "What we can do is try to encourage these folks to de-escalate a little bit, but we’re not going to get involved in the middle of war that’s fundamentally none of our business and has nothing to do with America’s ability to control it."

"You know, America can’t tell the Indians to lay down their arms. We can’t tell the Pakistanis to lay down their arms. And so, we’re going to continue to pursue this thing through diplomatic channels," Vance said.

"Our hope and our expectation is that this is not going to spiral into a broader regional war or, God forbid, a nuclear conflict. Right now, we don’t think that’s going to happen," Vance added.

Pakistan on Thursday escalated the tense situation by targeting civilian and military areas with a swarm of drones, missiles and intense artillery shelling. While India on May 7 targeted terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) as part of Operation Sindoor. India not only intercepted the drones and missiles, but also took down Pakistani fighter jets and an Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS).

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said if he could do anything to help, "I will be there" and wants the escalating conflict between the two countries to "stop".

"Oh it's so terrible. My position is I get along with both. I know both very well and I want to see them work it out. I want to see them stop and hopefully they can stop now. They have gone tit for tat so hopefully they can stop now. I know them both, we get along with both the countries very well.

  8. Full scale war

India repels Pak's overnight missile barrage, hits hard in pre-dawn response

India's coordinated counterstrikes and air defence neutralised Pakistan's second wave of drone and missile attacks in 24 hours, targeting over 15 cities. Blackouts were enforced across multiple states amid heightened alert.

Since Wednesday night, the Pakistani Army had attempted a coordinated attack across 15 Indian cities using drones and missiles. The targeted locations included Awantipura, Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir), Amritsar (Punjab), Kapurthala (Punjab), Jalandhar (Punjab), Ludhiana (Punjab), Adampur (Punjab), Bathinda (Punjab), Chandigarh, Nal (Rajasthan), Phalodi (Rajasthan), Uttarlai (Rajasthan) and Bhuj (Gujarat).

India's counter-offensive came Friday morning. Kamikaze drones were deployed to destroy a Pakistani air defence system near Lahore. "Indian armed forces this morning targeted air defence radars and systems at a number of locations in Pakistan," the defence ministry stated.

"Indian response has been in the same domain with the same intensity as Pakistan. It has been reliably learnt that an air defence system at Lahore has been neutralised," it added.

The high-stakes exchange comes on the heels of the Indian offensive, Operation Sindoor, against nine terror infrastructure targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK), carried out in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack in April which killed 26 civilians, mostly tourists.

The situation remains volatile with fears of a wider military conflict looming.

Addressing the nation amid rising tension, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh affirmed India's readiness. "No limit will become an obstacle to protecting India's sovereignty. India has always exercised restraint and believes in resolving issues through dialogue. But if anyone mistakes this restraint for weakness, they will face quality action," Singh said.

"Our armed forces are fully prepared for such responsible responses in the future as well," he added, underscoring New Delhi's strategic posture.

Meanwhile CNN and many other media sources are saying Trump & the U.S. had nothing to do with the ceasefire. Despite all of Trump's claims about the U.S. bringing about the ceasefire.
